Pay starts at $18.00/hr.The Capitol Distributing Transportation team is in search for Driver Assistants with ambition to become a full time CDL driver. Upon completion of 1 year of service we will reimburse up to $5,000 for your Commercial Driver License cost. As a Driver Assistant you will be working alongside an experienced driver delivering orders to our customers.
Some of what you'll do as a Driver Assistant:
- Load and unload the truck and/or company vehicles by hand or by use of a hand truck.
- Verify all delivered product via count & scanning for appropriate product tracking.
- Pad, stack, and secure items in position to prevent damage during shipment.
- Professionally interact with customers during direct delivery.
- Assist Drivers with all requested duties and responsibilities.
- Inspect product for quality such as food and drinks.
- Participate in ongoing safety programs.
- Train to operate yard equipment at our local warehouse.
- Other duties as assigned.
- Experience performing a manually intensive job.
- Currently or planning to obtain a CDL license.
- The ability to maintain a flexible work schedule.
- Ability to sit in a truck for a long period of time.
- The ability to move heavy product up to 90lbs.
- Ability to take instructions and provide customer service.
