Job Duties/Responsibilities:

• Fully understand how to operate and safely drive your assigned vehicle. Inspect truck before and after trips and submit report indicating truck condition.
• Read bill of lading to determine assignment. Obtain customer signatures and turn in bill of ladings.
• Ensure contents are properly secured in truck to prevent damage or injury.
• Fastens loads to secure load in trailer during transit and loads or unloads or assists in loading and unloading.
• Obtain customers signature and/or collects payment for services.
• Drives tractor/trailer combination, applies knowledge of commercial driving regulations to safely transport and deliver products.
• Maintains detailed driving and delivery logs. Maintains driver information using a ELD device. Track and report working hours.
• Comply with ICC and DOT regulations.
• Provides various information to supervisors, coworkers, ad subordinates by phone, e-mail, written, and/or in person.
• Follow delivery schedule and rest at appropriate times.
• Notify supervisor/dispatch of any maintenance or delivery issues encountered.
• Obey all applicable traffic laws and drive in accordance to the weather/road conditions.
• Checks in prior to taking a load to determine what other appropriate equipment is required to deliver the load, i.e., pallet jack, dolly, etc
• Perform duties and assume any other responsibilities that may be required to accomplish the job.

Qualifications:

• Valid commercial drivers license (CDL).
• 2 years driving experience in commercial truck driving preferred.
• Clean record with no moving violations.
• Must pass a background check and drug test.
• Skilled at driving and parking large vehicles.
• Able to use an electric lift, hand truck, pallet jacks, etc.
• High school diploma or equivalent.
• Work well independently.
• Ability to communicate information and/or reports in detail. Have open and transparent communication.
• Familiarity with GPS/map devices/apps.
• Ability to climb in and out of truck cabs.
• Must be able to sit for extended periods while driving.
• Maintain a clean and safe driving record.
• Must be registered in the national FDA Clearing House program.
• Physical activities include considerable use of arms and legs (moving the body), such as heavy lifting, bending, twisting, stooping, squatting, balancing, walking, overhead reaching, and handling various types of materials.
• Ability to manually lift up to 70 pounds of product numerous times.
