SUMMARY OF DUTIES:
This position is accountable for data analytics associated with all diversity spend in all areas working under the guidance of Lead and Senior Management. This can range from low to very complex areas. Responsible for assisting with managing spend reporting, developing or supporting reporting strategies, performing spend tool capability assessments, and additional projects as assigned. Must be able to navigate and understand comprehensive reporting tools, master Excel worksheets.
ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS:
- Provides information and services for Amtrak business units, including spend data analyses in different forms and areas as tracked, work with internal customers as well as suppliers to include Tier II through the use of automated tools and manual processes
- Serves as an interface to business units and management for the sourcing function and responsible for managing procurement projects assigned. Assists business units in finalizing diversity spend analytics by specific areas reorganizing data in a readable format
- Maintains, and manages diverse suppliers with focus on diverse spend in both direct and tier II spend while maintaining the highest code of ethics and conduct
- Prepares and administers reports that accurately depict our diversity spend efforts that aim to meet or exceed our corporate goal year over year. Work with procurement and business units to ensure enforcement of contractual requirements and Amtrak’s policies and procedures in concert with Federal Railroad Administrations 2CFR 200.321 Requirements that must be followed along with any other regulations/requirements as applicable
- Cross train with all other areas in Supplier Diversity Office to ensure that a comprehensive understanding is gained to optimize job performance
MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS:
- BS in Business Administration or related field plus 3 years of relevant experience. Or, a minimum of 7 years of relevant experience in lieu of a bachelor’s degree.
- Must possess knowledge of data analytics concepts, general procurement, statistics, database experience, trend analysis for relevant data
- Experience in supplier diversity, purchasing or materials planning or related fields with a concentration in data analytics and reporting.
- Proven track record of improving business processes and delivering measurable results.
- Effectively works under a matrix management structure.
- Ability to analyze strategic options and their direct potentials and indirect impact on the organization.
- Must be able to work and communicate effectively in writing and verbally with all levels of the company and suppliers.
- Expertise in business acumen, financial and analytical acumen, written and verbal communication, presentation skills, and implementation and execution.
- Expertise in ERP system, reporting and tracking tools
- Written and verbal communication skills sufficient to prepare, assess and review data,
- Self-starter with good analytical skills and common sense to problem solving.
- Demonstrate ability to learn new tasks in order to maintain effectiveness in position.
- Must be detailed oriented and disciplined to ensure project completion and effective follow-through.
- Ability to work in a fast-paced environment with frequently changing priorities.
PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS:
- BS in Business Administration or related field plus 5 years of relevant experience
- Contract Compliance Administrator (CCA)
- Experience in mathematics, statistics, computer science or information management
- Project management experience.
- Experience in SAP/Ariba on Demand/Microsoft Office Suite
COMMUNICATIONS AND INTERPERSONAL SKILLS:
Must have excellent oral and written communication skills.
The salary/hourly range is $78,500 - $101,730. Pay is based on several factors including but not limited to education, work experience, certifications, internal equity, etc. Depending on an employee’s assigned worksite or location, Amtrak may consider a geo-pay differential to be applied to the employee’s base salary. Amtrak may offer additional incentive and pay programs to recognize and reward our employees, including a short-term incentive bonus based upon factors such as individual and company performance that is commensurate with the level of the position and/or long-term incentive plan compensation. In accordance with DOT regulations (49 CFR § 40.25), Amtrak is required to obtain prior drug and alcohol testing records for applicants/employees intending to perform safety-sensitive duties for covered Department of Transportation positions. If an applicant/employee refuses to provide written consent for Amtrak to obtain these records, the individual will not be permitted to perform safety-sensitive functions.
In accordance with federal law governing security checks of covered individuals for public transportation ( Title 6 U.S.C. § 1143), Amtrak is required to screen applicants for any permanent or interim disqualifying criminal offenses.
