Job description

A Dishwasher is responsible for tasks of cleaning of all dishes, silverware, glassware, utensils, and pots/pans as well as the support of other areas of the BOH. This position requires a sense of urgency and adaptability. S/he represents Miller’s Ale House Restaurant by providing service that exhibits professionalism, attention to detail, and the desire to create a positive environment. S/he will also work directly with other Team Members to ensure that all Guests’ visits exceed their expectations.

ESSENTIAL REQUIREMENTS & KEY RESPONSIBILITIES

· Arrives to work on time as scheduled in full uniform

· Adheres to all service standards to indirectly create “Ale House Raving Fans”

· Fulfills all job responsibilities in order to contribute to a “one great shift” operation

· Works directly with Team Members to ensure all needs are fulfilled in a timely manner

· Ensures proper food handling and sanitation of work areas; ensures compliance with food handling requirements

· Collects bus tubs and dirty dishes from FOH and BOH areas

· Ensures a supply of clean and ready dish supplies for cooks, servers, and bartenders

· Re-stocks areas aimed at easy access for other staff members

· Supports cooks as needed, occasionally being assigned a station

· Communicates with fellow Team Members and Management to keep one another informed

· Maintains neat and organized work areas; to include sweeping and mopping as needed

· Accomplishes all running and end of shift side work; including ensuring work areas are stocked and ready for the next scheduled Dishwasher to take over

· Notifies Management immediately of any potential problem

SAFETY & SANITATION

· Washes hands every 30 minutes throughout the shift

· Maintains clean and sanitized work areas

· Works with Team Members to ensure that safety and sanitation protocol is being executed to company standard

TEAMWORK, SKILLS AND EDUCATION

· Supports other Back of House functions as needed, ensuring that everything within the 4 walls of the restaurant is every Team Member’s responsibility

· Positively communicates with other Team Members and Management to keep one another informed

· Provides exceptional service throughout the entire shift

· Possesses communication skills and the ability to work alone as well as with a team

· Ability to multitask and work in a fast-paced environment

· Must be a minimum of 18 years of age unless otherwise dictated by state law

· Sets up Team Members for success at shift change by ensuring side work and stations are properly stocked

PHYSICAL DEMANDS

The Dishwasher is expected to be able to perform the job functions with reasonable accommodation. Physical demands include:

· Remain standing for extended periods of time

· Frequent bending, squatting, kneeling, and lifting, up to 40 lbs., for short distances

· Ability to work with hot water for most of the shift

· Ability to work with varying noise levels

· Frequent communication with Managers and Team Members. Must be able to exchange accurate information in these situations.
