This leader will report to the Chief Product and Strategy Officer within the technology development division. The Director of Technical Program Management will be responsible for leading and managing a team with direct reports. The role is also responsible for driving cross collaboration with other teams to uncover opportunities for new features and functionality, build and articulate development timelines and prioritize technology development. This is also an exciting opportunity to build our technical project management office including introducing TPM tools and best practices to supercharge our delivery pipeline.

Essential Functions

  • Responsible for design and development of cloud systems, mobile apps, off the shelf and custom software.
  • Evaluate potential software product improvements and recommend design modifications.
  • Define timelines, KPIs, and other important metrics for success while monitoring telemetry to improve the
    tools and services to drive customer and enterprise value.
  • Construct software development project plans, provide feedback on development strategies, costs, risks, and
    timelines for each project.
  • Communicate promptly about blockers to critical paths. Leverage software tools that dynamically update
    based on delays in critical paths and dependencies and display current statuses and ETA’s for all projects.
  • Define and lead product execution strategy for multiple areas of products and platform.
  • Build and lead a team of TPMs capable of enhancing project tracking capability and increasing project
    management bandwidth.
  • Leverage data-driven prioritization based on time, effort, and confidence of on-time completion.
  • Demonstrate an ability to structure an organization and optimize it for execution, including attracting top-tier
    talent and filing out gaps in the existing team.
  • Manage, mentor, and grow the existing technical program management team.
  • Build and lead with customer focus and effective communication with a focus on decisive solutions and
    resolutions to cross functional conflicts.
  • Serve as an evangelist for the team and overall culture.
  • Provide broad technical leadership and provide mentorship for more junior level engineers.

Requirements

  • Bachelor's degree in computer science, or a related discipline; master's degree preferred.
  • 10+ years software industry experience, including systems engineering, hardware engineering in a technical product/program management capacity.
  • 10+ years people management experience leading teams to deliver technical programs or products from inception to post-market.
  • Experience project managing large-scale software systems, including those leveraging cloud services, mobile and web applications.
  • Experience around SQL, .NET, Rest, Java, NodeJS, Angular, Javascript, C++
  • Ability to effectively communicate with customers with credibility and authority, and resolve issues quickly before they escalate.
  • Ability to manage according to key performance metrics. Applies metrics-driven leadership.
  • High performing, self-starter with excellent organizational and customer service skills, as well as the ability to
    work independently.
  • Flexibility and time management skills are critical.
  • Must demonstrate excellent written and verbal communication skills and interpersonal skills, particularly the
    ability to communicate effectively with all levels of management and industry and government professionals.
  • Strong financial analysis background, excellent leadership and motivational skills are required.
  • Certified Project Management Professional (PMP)-PMI
  • AWS Cloud Certification
  • Artificial Intelligence and Machine Learning (AI/ML) Certification
  • Six Sigma Certification preferred
  • DL NUMBER - Driver's License, Valid and in State
