UCP Heartland is looking for an experienced supervisor for our Director of Respite Services. The Director of Respite Services will be providing a much needed service for families. The director will have the opportunity to have a phenomenal impact on the staff and the families that are serviced. They will have the opportunity to build the program and build relationships with the families to ensure that the families are utilizing available services and resources that they may not know are available to help with a quality of life for the entire family.

MINIMUM EMPLOYMENT STANDARDS
  • Bachelor’s degree in special education, psychology, rehabilitation, social work or other related human services field from an accredited college or university
  • Minimum of three years of experience in programs for both children and adults with varying abilities.
  • Two years of administrative/supervisory experience with skills in personnel management, fiscal management, conflict resolution, business planning and staff training
  • Effective written and oral communication skills, and computer proficiency with Microsoft Office and other software as necessary, electronic mail and the Internet
Essential Job Functions:
  • Lead, motivate, mentor and train high performing teams with integrity.
  • Hire, orient, supervise, train, and terminate staff in accordance with UCP Heartland policies.
  • Meet the staff development needs of the department employees through a systematic analysis of needs, securing the means to meet those needs, and ongoing monitoring of staff competence and compliance with training and certification requirements.
  • Provide timely, accurate, regular and consistent supervision of subordinates in the department by completion of performance evaluations as needed and required, and by other formal and informal methods.
  • Build and maintain effective marketing channels for program awareness in the community to expand services and maximize utilization.
  • Ensure client related documentation is completing in a timely manner and by the deadline.
  • Manage and utilize the EHR (Electronic Health Records) system to complete all applicable documentation.
  • Assess prospective clients to identify needs and services relevant for each client to received services and function in the community.
  • Provide all necessary emergency and backup services needed to ensure the client’s health and safety.
  • Complete all reporting requirements needed by the Agency, funding sources, accreditation, and/or certification entities.
  • Ability to effectively communicate with a broad and diverse group of individuals through verbal and written communications.
  • Ability to work within and meet established time frames.
  • Participate in the Agency’s “on call” system except when advance notification of unavailability has been communicated to all applicable parties.
  • Coordination of all funding necessary to create and maintain the clients’ services through various funding streams.
  • With the guidance and support from Human Resources understand and implement OSHA, FLSA policies and procedures and other applicable labor requirements
  • Possess a valid driver’s license and have a reliable means of transportation.
  • Ability to obtain and maintain certification in First Aid, Cardio-Pulmonary Resuscitation (CPR), behavior management, medication administration, and crisis intervention techniques
