Summary
The Director will be committed to community health care, will work well with staff from diverse backgrounds, and will encourage the interdisciplinary and integrated care team model that is integral to CSHHC. The Director must partner with the leadership of various Yale School of Medicine Departments and Sections to enable the provision of specialty medical services to CSHHC patients and to facilitate the integration of Yale residents and fellows in CSHHC specialty clinics.
The Director must be an advocate for efficient use of the electronic medical record in order to optimize care delivery. He/she will work closely with and be supportive of the nursing leadership team in general and the Nurse Manager for Medical Specialties in particular. The Director also serves as Medical Director for any grant programs that support the Department. The Director will practice clinically within his or her specialty and must be comfortable managing complex patients including those with substance use disorders and behavioral health conditions.
The Director functions as an integral member of CSHHC’s medical leadership team and will conduct himself/herself accordingly at all times. Thus, he/she will demonstrate a keen understanding of the health care industry in general and of federally qualified health center operations in particular. The Director will assist the CMO in the accumulation and organization of health statistics needed for internal and external reporting purposes and will serve as needed as a clinical liaison with all applicable regulatory agencies, accreditation bodies, professional associations, and community organizations. The Director will serve as one of the health center’s clinical leaders for quality assurance and quality improvement initiatives.
Qualifications
Education: Physician with the appropriate degree from an accredited school, current CT licensure, and board certification or eligibility.
Experience: Minimum of three (3) years related experience including a minimum of one (1) year supervisory experience. Experience in community health is highly desirable. Experience working with medical specialties is preferred.
