As the Director of Mechanical Engineering, you’ll build the team and provide technical expertise in specific areas involving mechanical, structural, CAE, Thermal, and Fluid mechanics and engineering. You will be responsible for process development, tool selection, and Mechanical team member development to support Energy, Infrastructure, and Mobility programs.

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • Lead and grow our current team to support future missions.
  • Product development efforts and craft our future.
  • Growing team, you must be ok with hands on effort from time to time.
  • Development of prototype and concept solutions to complete go to market manufacturable products.
  • Manage team structure, budgets, and engagement with program leads to ensure success in various energy and vehicle programs.
  • Drive team direction and help breakdown complex problems by collaborating with development teams to find clever solutions to challenging problems and timelines.

IDEALLY, YOU HAVE EXPERIENCE WITH:

  • 10+ Years of experience in electromechanical product development, manufacturing, and testing.
  • Developing product from concept and prototype to scaled manufacturing.
  • Experience in Mechanical Design and best practices
  • 2+ years with electrical machines, high voltage systems, and small electronic devices.
  • 2+ years working with thermal fluid systems.
  • CAD (CATIA, NX, Inventor, Solidworks, etc)
  • Test, validation, instrumentation, and processes.

AND YOU'RE SOMEONE WHO IS:

  • Capable of interacting with electromechanical, CAE, electrical, software, and manufacturing team members.
  • Continuously evaluating new technologies, design methodologies, and solutions to develop the best possible products.
  • Willing to dive deep into technical challenges to help your team continuously advance forward.
  • Ability to thrive in fast paced, challenging, startup environment who understands challenges at such an early stage of a company's growth.
  • Ability to navigate early design requirements and collaborate with multi-disciplinary stakeholders to drive technical solutions.
