Rocky Mountain Prep is a growing network of innovative public charter schools, serving students in pre-kindergarten through fifth grade in the Greater Denver Area. Rocky Mountain Prep opened its first school in 2012 with 130 students and has grown to four schools, working with over 1,800 scholars across two districts. In the school year 2023-2024, we will grow to 12 schools serving over 5,000 students

Role Mission
As a Director of Leader Development, you will help build a strong school leadership pipeline to ensure that every school is led by a transformational leadership team. In partnership with Vice Presidents of Schools, and driven by data, DLDs build cross-functional capacity for improvements in the onboarding, development and retention RMP principals and their instructional lead team members in the areas of people, instructional and organizational leadership.


With coaching, support and guidance from the Vice President of Leader development, in this role, you will:

  • Analyze academic, persistence, retention, and proficiency-based data metrics in collaboration with network support staff members to make appropriate decisions about resource allocation and coaching support.
  • Serve as a model and exemplar of effective coaching moves across meta-cognitive levels (teacher coaching, assistant principal coaching, principal coaching, etc.)
  • Coach campus leaders (as assigned) in building both technical and adaptive proficiency in the most important areas of instructional, people, and organizational leadership, grounded in a shared understanding of criteria for success and exemplars/models.
  • Use data and questions to uncover leaders’ thinking and build shared accountability for development and impact targets.
  • Track and monitor progress for leader development and student outcomes, ensuring ongoing follow-up with VPs of Schools to move leaders forward on their student achievement goals
  • Inform the design of and facilitate professional development for leaders and teachers across the organization aligned with our leadership priorities
  • Build and maintain a business partnership with network and campus stakeholders in order to build trust, align support and maximize the impact of coaching and development platforms

Qualifications:

  • Required
  • Education: Bachelor’s degree, required, Master’s degree, preferred
  • Experience: 4+ years of teaching experience required; 3+ years of school leader experience required; principal experience preferred
  • Experience in adult learning or curriculum and instruction
  • Pass a background check
  • Demonstrate eligibility to work in the United States

  • Ability to analyze and interpret data to identify trends, identify root causes, and develop strategies and tactics that yield results and achieve goals
  • Ability to develop effective partnerships with multiple stakeholders working towards the same outcome
  • Ability to drive marked improvements in student outcomes through effective instructional and leadership coaching
  • Ability to provide clear, actionable feedback verbally and in writing that leads to improvements in leadership practices
  • Ability to design and facilitate engaging and impactful professional development sessions for adults
  • Exceptional ability to coach adults and inspire significant change in their actions
  • Skill in critical thinking and problem-solving, along with the ability to coach and develop these in others
  • Skill in organization, prioritization, follow through, and attention to detail, with the ability to coach these in others
  • Skill in effective communication skills, both verbally and in writing
  • Marked experience and commitment to building and maintaining a culture of high integrity, mutual respect, operational excellence, and prioritization of diversity, equity, and inclusion.

Salary

  • This is a full-time benefits-eligible position with a salary range of $95,000 to $130,000.
