The Director of Insurance Product Management will lead our Insurance Product Management team and will be responsible for ensuring that our products continue to be compelling in a competitive market and are optimized to continue to meet the needs of our customers. Reporting to the Vice President of US Insurance Product, this role will lead a growing team of Insurance Product Managers and Specialists.
The ideal candidate will have deep intellectual curiosity, strong communication abilities, experience developing and growing talented individuals and teams, and thrive in matrixed and fast paced organizations.
As a Director of Insurance Product Management, you will:
- Have full accountability for the Core Insurance Product Management function to ensure our insurance products meet both customer needs and performance expectations
- Lead the Core Insurance Product Management teams by providing guidance, development, and direction to the team on a daily basis
- Be ultimately responsible for the management and coordination of IT backlog and coordinating with US Delivery, Engineering, and TCB to ensure that supply and demand for resourcing is understood and transparent
- Drive and direct the analytical capabilities of the group to quickly identify opportunities for improvement throughout the customer acquisition funnel
- Lead and participate in identifying market opportunities and appetite gaps in current product offerings relative to customer needs and help to evaluate best ways to respond to possible market opportunities
- Oversee the ongoing delivery of maintenance and optimization items requested by carriers or needed by our business
- Develop talent throughout the team encouraging growth and constant development
- Communicate regularly with senior leadership on the overall health of product and carrier performance
- Build relationships with stakeholders across the organization to facilitate collaborative solutioning and rapid responses to opportunities as they emerge
What we are looking for:
- Significant experience and understanding of US insurance products. Preferably in the small commercial insurance markets or personal insurance markets
- Experience and exposure to direct acquisition model and channels highly preferred
- Demonstrated experience with leading root-cause analysis, identifying key drivers in product performance, ideating best-in-class ways of illustrating findings, and the development and communicating potential responses to drivers
- Experience with prioritizing IT/Tech investments based on relative value, risk assessment and understanding how to reduce risk in delivery
- Experience leading leaders while inspiring and developing both leaders and individual contributors
- Experience communicating complicated fact patterns in compelling and digestible ways to various audiences with differing levels of understanding
- Insatiable intellectual curiosity balanced with ability to prioritize the most important bodies of work

What's going on with work from home and return to the office?
More and more, people are talking about going back to the workplace and the new normal. At Simply Business, we’re thinking of it as a Better Normal. That means offering our SBers more choice and greater flexibility to work in a way that’s best for their particular job, their teams, and their lives.
We’re shifting to a hybrid working model, so we’ll have employees working virtually and in the office at any given time.
We’re also aware there are times when working together in person is the best way to get things done. We expect our SBers to connect in their hubs (that’s what we call our offices) most likely once every few weeks. That said, there’s no one-size-fits-all solution, so we expect all SBers and their teams will find the operating rhythm that works best for them.
