The Director of Data Science is a highly motivated individual that will coordinate, advocate for, and diffuse data science techniques across the enterprise. The individual filling this position will play a vital role in the organization’s analytical and predictive capabilities available in support of our client’s mission and vision. This position will be a key enabler of our client’s vision to make health, health education, and discovery smarter to create unparalleled value and to be the most trusted healthcare partner. Our mission is the delivery of actionable insights to the right person, at the right time, in the right context. The successful candidate will be able to draw from their previous experience in the following required
skills: Develop a strategy for ML-Ops; Statistical and Predictive Modeling; Combine AI/ML and Engineering skills to implement highly scalable platform components and tools to solve real-world problems in areas such as Image Recognition, Text Recognition, Natural Language Processing, Best Next Action, and Time Series predictions. Reporting and Data Visualization development; Effectively identifying the key strategies for successful advance analytics program. The incumbent must be at ease in environments with shifting requirements; have excellent oral and written communication, as well as presentation skills; be self-motivated, capable of leading teams and be capable of handling multiple simultaneous projects; be flexible and maintain critical thinking abilities under pressure; possess outstanding problem identification/solving skills; and possess outstanding documentation ability.

Job Responsibilities

  • Direct a team of Data Scientists in the development of high-impact tools for ad hoc projects and on-going advanced analytics platforms
  • Convert organization strategies to plans with well-defined supporting advanced analytics objectives, timelines, and responsibilities for the team to successfully execute against them
  • Driving business impact through data by showing trends, and uncovering meaningful and actionable insights
  • Design and implement the standards and methods for creating Predictive Models
  • Develop a predictive model solution framework to integrate the following components: ODS, Machine Learning, APIs, scorecards, dashboards, reporting tools as well as complimentary tools.
  • Expertise in Machine Learning, Microsoft Azure, R, Python, etc. Logically organizes large amounts of data and conceptualizes how they may be integrated and associated together to provide meaningful insight
  • Understands the fundamentals for SSRS Report Development and Visualization Development
  • Develops and maintains documentation including database standards, and routine and periodic database maintenance processes
  • Interacts with co-workers, visitors, and other staff consistent with the iSCORE values of our client.

Job Requirements

  • 5+ years of experience directing a high-performing team under tight deadlines. Minimum 2 years in a healthcare setting.
  • Master’s degree in Applied Math, Economics, Statistics, Engineering, Computer Science or other quantitative field. PhD preferred.
  • Ability to manage, motivate and set clear goals for a high-performing team.
  • 5+ Year using Python/R/etc to conduct advanced statistical analyses (i.e., A/B Testing) & building predictive models.
  • Hands on experience on ML algorithms (linear / logistic regression, SVMs, Tree-based models, neural networks, Deep Learning, NLP, CNN, RNNs) and their real-world pros/cons to improve performance, efficiency and techniques (cross validation, feature selection approaches, hyper parameter optimization etc.)
  • Experience directing and conducting operations and Data Science Analysis for businesses and clinical operations in multiple locations
  • Experience with health data and products is highly preferred
  • Exposure to most of the following: Orchestrate (Kubeflow Pipelines, MLRun), Container (Docker, Kubernetes), Model Serving (Kubeflow KF Serving, TF Serving), ML framework/tools (TensorFlow, Keras, ScikitLearn, Spark, etc.), and Feature Stores
  • Experience with AI/ML Governance: Model Repository (MLflow Registry, ModelDB), Code Repository (GitHub, etc.), Model Tracking (MLflow Tracking, TensorBoard), Explainable AI ( LIME, SHAP, etc.), and Fairness (TensorFlow Fairness Indicators, FairLearn)
  • Experience architecting solution components for business intelligence and Machine Learning
  • Experience in multidimensional data modeling for the purposes of solving complex queries of large data bases
  • Demonstrated strength in critical thinking to identify new predictive models for evolving business requirements
  • Experience in Stakeholder engagement and delivering decision-impacting metrics for specific departments, divisions, and the enterprise.
  • Hiring talent onto the Data Science team
  • Experience using an agile development methodology
  • Experience using or providing data extracts for tools such as QlikSense (Preferred), Tableau, and the like
  • Experience with project management and change management tools such as JIRA
  • Strong initiative, self-motivation and the ability to work both independently and in teams
  • Demonstrated ability to work effectively and collaboratively with others
  • High degree of professionalism, a positive ‘can do’ attitude and strong work ethic
  • Willing to go above and beyond to ensure achievement of goals
  • Strong customer service orientation
  • Organizational skills to handle several projects simultaneously and to accommodate shifting priorities and meet deadlines

  • Demonstrated strength in critical thinking to identify new system solutions for evolving business requirements
