Summary Description:

This key Director Human Resources role will take both a strategic and tactical business leadership role with the Corporate functions of Finance, Information Technology, Information Systems, Commercial, Supply Chain, and Procurement in implementing HR systems and processes across the functions and developing strategies to assist in the retention and development of employees. This role is also responsible to drive the talent/performance management cycle across the entire Company. That includes ownership for the performance management process, the talent management process, leadership development and broader employee retention activities. The Director HR role will work closely with the VP of HR for Refresco NA in implementing and managing key HR programs.

Key Accountabilities:

The following are essential duties and responsibilities for this position:

Corporate Functions:

  • Develop HR plans and programs to support the achievement of the Corporate Functions business objectives.
  • Strategic business advisor and coach to the functional leadership teams regarding key organizational and management issues.
  • Work with the functional leadership teams to ensure key employees are hired that meet our desired culture and values and onboarded for success. Work hand in hand with Talent Acquisition on Recruiting activities.
  • Develop and lead a small HR team to ensure all day-to-day and administrative HR activities for the Corporate functions are completed timely and correctly.
  • Overall responsibility for employee relations across the Corporate functions both personally and through the functional HR team.
  • Responsible for Exit Interview Surveys and processes across the Corporate Functions and evaluate turnover data to inform employee retention strategies.

Company Wide HR Ownership:

  • Participate as part of the HR leadership team in policy development and communication. Ownership of the HRBP and employee handbooks.
  • Drive the performance management process across the overall Company. This includes ownership of the @Refresco system from a North America perspective. Ensure the system is set up to be an effective performance review and talent management system.
  • Develop and drive a performance and talent management annual calendar for the business and lead communications and project management for the overall processes.
  • Drive annual talent review process for each function and for the Top 100 of the Company annually, including succession and development planning for key talent.
  • Responsible for the Great Place to Work Survey process. Develop and lead employee engagement and employee satisfaction initiatives.
  • Lead learning and development activities including the following current programs (subject to change):
    • Goodhabitz
    • Supervisor Boot Camp and other leadership development activities
    • Alchemy
    • Alchemy Playbook
  • Develop/find/drive other key learning and leadership development activities for the business.
  • Ownership of the new employee onboarding process from an HR perspective.
  • Responsible to lead and develop a small team to support the performance management and leadership development processes and functions within HR.

Skills/Qualifications:

  • High level of accountability, quality, and innovation (strives for high performance, emphasizes problem prevention, develops ideas for improvement, creates new processes, ensures accuracy of information)
  • Generalist background with broad knowledge of employment, compensation, organizational planning, employee relations, and training and development. Well-developed administrative skills. Strong management skills—principles and people.
  • Experienced working with multiple locations/Countries/Cultures is a plus.
  • High energy level, comfortable performing multifaceted projects in conjunction with day-to-day activities.
  • Superior interpersonal abilities. Ability to get along with diverse personalities, tactful, mature, flexible.
  • Must have sound judgment—ability to balance other business considerations. Service oriented, but assertive/persuasive. Good reasoning abilities.
  • Must have excellent communication skills and the ability to develop a team environment promoting growth
  • Ability to establish credibility and be decisive—but be able to recognize and support the organization's preferences and priorities.

Education and Experience:

  • Bachelor's degree or equivalent in Human Resources required.
  • Advanced degree or HR certification preferred.
  • 8+ experience gained through increasingly responsible management positions within Human Resources.
  • 6+ years Human Resources Generalist experience
  • Organizational Development experience or training desired
  • Computer literacy with Microsoft Office applications and ability to learn and understand HR systems. Prior experience with HR systems preferred (success factors, UKG, etc).

Working Conditions:

  • Visual/Sensory – Fast paced, high-volume work environment with frequent interruptions.
  • Work Environment – This is an office based role. Overnight travel will be required 25%+ of the time.
