The Role

The Director of Disability Claims is accountable for claim management and administration for Mature Long Term Disability claims, Life Premium Waiver Claims and Financial Services administration. The Director will demonstrate exceptional leadership and bring leadership and technical expertise in customer service, quality and claim management practices. In addition, the incumbent will serve as an operational excellence ambassador identifying and implementing opportunities for continuous process improvement.

The Director manages a staff of direct and indirect reports with ultimate responsibility of staff development through coaching, professional development, and performance management. The incumbent will collaborate with internal leaders as well as outsourced partners identifying and implementing strategic initiatives to meet business goals and deliver an exceptional experience for our customers. The Director will also be responsible for leading strategic initiatives for disability claim management and product enhancements and improving processes and procedures for both Life Waiver and Long-Term Disability.

Your Expertise

What you’ll need to succeed:

  • 10 years Disability claims experience
  • Experience and knowledge of Life and Long-Term Disability claims preferred but not required
  • Experience working with vendor partners
  • 5 to 7 years of management experience
  • Experience leading an organization through change
  • Demonstrated success in driving culture change and employee development
  • Excellent communication skills, both verbal and written
  • Excellent relationship building and partnership skills
  • Understanding of customers' needs and deliver an outstanding service experience

Note: Prudential is required by state specific laws to include the salary range for this role when hiring a resident in applicable locations. The salary range for this role is from $123,800.00 to $167,600.00. Specific pricing for the role may vary within the above range based on many factors including geographic location, candidate experience, and skills. Roles may also be eligible for additional compensation and/or benefits. Eligibility to participate in a discretionary annual incentive program is subject to the rules governing the program, whereby an award, if any, depends on various factors including, without limitation, individual and organizational performance. In addition, employees are eligible for standard benefits package including paid time off, medical, dental and retirement.
