Cambria Care Center is a 301-bed skilled nursing facility located in Ebensburg, PA. Cambria Care provides both skilled and intermediate care. We retain a caring, professional and experienced staff. Our people take the time to show they care. At the center of this mission is our dietary services unit which is currently seeking a Dietary Aide / Supervisor, reporting to the Dietary Director. This supervisor oversees the basic day-to-day functions of the unit, ensuring that all residents and staff have access to nutritious, high quality food, in keeping with all standards and regulations. Position is full-time and qualified candidate must be able to work every other weekend.
Responsibilities of the Dietary Supervisor include:
- Supervising/Delegating responsibilities for daily operation of the Dietary Department, including food and supplies purchase and storage, food preparation, sanitation and nutritional care
- Hiring, training and instructing dietary staff in duties and responsibilities to ensure compliance with all operational standards and objectives
- Supervising and/or coordinating the Quality Assurance program to maintain or improve quality of Dietary Department responsibilities
- Determining quality, quantity and type of food and supplies needed to provide cost effective food service
- Assisting in reviewing, revising, and posting of recipes to provide accurately prepared and standardized food products
- Placing food and supply orders, then maintaining pertinent information for fiscal records to meet departmental budgets
- Planning/Conducting monthly in-service training programs for dietary staff, and orienting all Dietary Assistants on an ongoing basis
- Visiting patients/residents upon admission and on a regular basis thereafter to determine food preferences, requests, dislikes and allergies
- Conducting resident surveys on food preferences, acceptable menus items, quality of food and service
- Visits residents in dining room and personal rooms during meal times to maintain an acceptable level of communication with residents.
Qualifications
Candidates should have food service experience, preferably in healthcare; and the ability to supervise. Vaccination from Covid-19 is a condition for hiring, except where a bona fide religious or medical exemption is submitted. Additionally, candidates must display strong knowledge of menus, recipes, food purchasing, preparation and storage, plus knowledge of leading industry regulations/policies. SERV Safe Certification is preferred.
