Development and Marketing Assistant/Charity Care
Job description
Catholic Charities North Dakota is hiring a full time person in the Development Department. This person will report directly to the Director of Marketing and will assist with planning, coordinating, and carrying out activities of the Development and Marketing office. This includes maintaining the donor database and gift acknowledgements. In addition this person will act as our Charity Care Specialist. Duties include: Answer phone calls and speak with walk-in clients who are requesting assistance through our Charity Care service. Speak with clients, complete I&R form, and decide whether to provide assistance. Provide clients with information regarding local services, resources, and benefits available through the community and/or government.
JJob Responsibility Including Physical Demands (Essential Functions):
1. Responsible for maintaining accurate donor records and acknowledgment of donations.
2. In collaboration with Development Team, responsible for facilitating the process, from
format to design to printing, of agency print materials, including monthly, semi-annual,
annual publications.
3. In consultation with the Marketing Director, conduct the direct mail campaigns of
Agency.
4. Work with Marketing Director to organize potential events, donor gatherings, donor
newsletters, and other development activities.
5. In the event of a disaster within the state, maintain communication with the Disaster
Response Office of Catholic Charities USA, as well as with North Dakota's Voluntary
Organizations Active in Disaster (VOAD). Facilitate the collection of donations and
distribution of resources in event of a disaster within the state.
6. Answer phone calls and speak with walk-in clients requesting Charity Care assistance with a warm and professional attitude.
7. Gather information regarding clients through discussion and research.
8. Evaluate client's situation, make recommendation to Executive Director or Director of Finance/IT, and follow through with decision (make payment or inform client otherwise).
9. Provide information to clients regarding services and/or resources available outside of the Charity Care service.
10. Able to work with limited supervision.
11. Maintain data regarding all Charity Care clients and inquires on paper as well as electronically.
12. Maintain data regarding spending for Charity Care as well as funding available.
13. Keep up to date on available services/resources in the community or through the government.
14. File, maintain, and retrieve information from computer or files as needed.
15. Assist PPAS program with adoption search information when time allows.
16. Demonstrate competence and use with Microsoft office programs.
17. Competent in the use of office equipment, such as computer, postage meter, scanner, fax machine and copier as needed.
18. Participate actively in the Agency's Performance Quality Improvement Process.
19. Respond appropriately to the cultural differences present within the Agency's service
population and staff.
20. Relate well and partners with clients and families, community agencies, organization and
associations.
21. Demonstrate values compatible with the Agency's.
22. Perform other tasks as designated by Executive Director or Marketing Director.
