Job Title: Development and Communications Manager- Homeless Veterans

Shift: Full- time

Location: Riverside, CA

Responsibilities:

· Expand fundraising and communications activities; participate in national development calls, teleconferences and meetings

· Lead growth of corporate fundraising through identification and direct solicitation of prospects for event sponsorships, in-kind and capital investments.

· Oversee all donor engagement; increase individual giving through donor solicitation and stewardship, and independent coordination of direct mail and e-appeals.

· Serve as community representative, facilitate presentations for the Executive Director and program leadership, deliver presentations to local businesses, faith-based groups and community associations.

· Manage site communications, public relations and marketing; secure client success stories, develop all social media engagement, website updates, coordinate media and advertising.

· Maintain site development and communications calendar; report on site fundraising efforts to the National Office

· Other duties as assigned

Experience Requirements:

·Prior fundraising experience, particularly special events, individual and corporate giving

·Initiative to personally request and secure investments from individuals, corporations and community groups.

· Strong written and verbal communication skills.

· Acute attention to detail

· Good problem solving and conflict resolution skills.

· A highly motivated self-starter and ability to coordinate multiple projects/tasks at once.

· Efficiency and accuracy in data entry

· Computer skills with proficiency in Microsoft Office software.

· Flexible, adaptable and have the capability to work in a fast paced, professional environment.

· Maintain regular, consistent attendance.

Education Requirements:

-Bachelors degree from an accredited college or university.

Skills:

-Skills in critical thinking, problem-solving, logic and reasoning, judgment, time management techniques and data entry;

-Ability to make improvements or take corrective action;

-Observe, receive, and otherwise obtain information from all relevant sources;
-Organize, plan, and prioritize work;

-Communicate with people outside the organization, represent the organization to patients, clients and the public;

-Deal calmly and effectively in high stress situations;

-Develop constructive and cooperative working relationships with others, and maintain them over time;

-Work within a team as well as independently;

-Speak, read, and write effectively as appropriate for the needs of the audience while demonstrating the proper use of grammar.
