DSN is seeking a Design Engineer to join our team.
Position’s Contributions to Work Group:
To support aftertreatment and new technology teams with light engineering tasks, tracking of prototype engine & aftertreatment components, and ensuring prototype builds happen successfully through on-site support of lab assembly technicians.
Typical Day: Dependent on day and state of project.
In preparation for prototype assembly, working with lab technicians to ensure all necessary testing equipment is available and on schedule.
During prototype assembly and testing, work will primarily be on-site in assisting technicians with build guidance and identifying/working solutions.
During down times, could be asked to do some light design work in programs such as Creo or extracting existing JT models and putting together visuals for design reviews and build books.
Education Requirements: Bachelor's degree in Mechanical Engineering with minimum of 1-year post-graduate engineering experience required. Would consider graduate work as experience as well as work experience.
Technical Skills: Required: Design experience with Creo. MS Excel, MS Powerpoint, MS Word will be key. Hands on experience in test labs, ideally with engine background.
Desired skills: Experience with tools such as Python, Power Automation, CANape or DATK, and proficient at Microsoft Excel. Any controls background a plus.
Soft Skills: Teamwork and communication skills are crucial. High initiative. Must be able to thrive in fast-paced environment with constantly changing assignments.
