Design Engineer

Position Description

Drewco Corporation is a 75-year-old workholding company. We are a growing company with a strong customer service orientation and a great culture. We design and build workholding and tooling for most major manufacturers, across a wide range of industries including the automotive, agriculture, mining, defense and the gear industry. Near interstate 94 South of Milwaukee, WI.

This position is a great opportunity for someone to work directly with top management in a growing company with interesting customers and projects. We are looking for an experienced, self motivated individual to join our engineering team. This is a cross-cultural team including engineering, manufacturing and marketing.

Key Accountabilities

· Work directly with customers to determine workholding project requirements

· Create proposal drawings and make presentations to customers

· Produce design layout, assemblies, and detailed component 3D drawings

· Calculate dimensions, clearances, and tolerances (GD&T)

· Prepare bill of materials and other documents necessary for the release of the drawings

· Check the accuracy of the work produced by self and others

· Project management

Position Requirements

· Bachelor’s degree in Mechanical Engineering

· 2+ years of experience

· Proficiency in SolidWorks

· Basic proficiency with Microsoft Office applications

· The ability to effectively work in a team environment. This included delivering on due date expectation, good communications skills, and the ability to work with others

· Occasional travel necessary

Desirable Experience and Capabilities

· Shop floor/manufacturing experience

· Fixturing and/or gear production experience

· Experience in work and tool design as well as CNC machine design and function

· Quoting experience
