Title: Dental Technician Trainee
Location: Waunakee
Job Type: Full-Time
Work Schedule: Monday – Friday (typically 8:00AM – 5:00PM, with some variation)
Currently hiring in the departments listed below (see entry-level associated tasks); interviews will include an explanation of each available position – together, we will narrow down the positions based on your level of interest while also considering D&S’ top priorities and hiring needs:
Fixed Department (Crown & Bridge):
- Model Room
- Pour models, cut out dies, bulk trim, articulate bites
- Digital Contour (Design)
- Check and enter cases, scan models, enter and download digital scans
Removable Department (Dentures):
- Model Room
- Pour models, articulate, trim, and invest
- Frameworks
- Metal finishing
*Other reasonably related tasks as assigned by management
Skills Needed:
- Integrity: Being honest and ethical while handling confidential patient information

- Dependability: Being consistently, reliable, and responsible in fulfilling obligations

Education:
- High School Graduate or Equivalent
Requirements:
- No previous experience required; dental background appreciated
Work Environment:
- Company: D&S is described as a “manufacturer of dental appliances,” and therefore is production-based. D&S is challenging, rewarding, collaborative, fast-paced, and innovative. In many departments, once trained, employees are encouraged to use headphones during their workday to listen to music, audiobooks, podcasts, etc. The management team regularly surprises employees with lunch, organizes employee outings, facilitates creative events (i.e., craft fair, pumpkin carving contest, etc.).
- Department: Current employees describe the laboratory areas as, “Highly dependent on effective teamwork and communication, there is a creative aspect to nearly everything we do, we are enthusiastic about technology, cross-training is always encouraged, and the majority of technicians describe themselves as introverted/task-oriented with a preference for autonomy.”
Salary:
- $14 - $20/hr.; depending on prior related education and/or work experience
