Pay Range: $65,000 to $80,000

Our custom project schedule is growing in depth and complexity, and we are looking for the right Workshop Supervisor to help bring our Custom Projects Division to the next level. We are seeking a dynamic Workshop Supervisor for our Custom Projects Division.
Our future Workshop Supervisor has the right attitude, aptitude, and experience to manage a skilled team of Craftsmen. We are looking for someone with extensive experience making and managing high-end architectural metalwork projects. Each of our products are formed and finished by hand with the assistance of task-specific tooling and machinery. As the Supervisor of this team, you'll ensure that the custom metalwork team has the right tools, process, training, planning and daily supervision to meet project schedules, design quality, and fabrication cost requirements.
Experience, qualifications, and whats needed to thrive at RTID:
- Ability to manage a diverse production team effectively and efficiently in a dynamic manufacturing environment.
- A high school diploma or equivalent.
- Minimum of 7 to 10 years of architectural metalwork experience.
- Minimum of 3 to 5 years of direct supervision or management experience.
- Mechanically inclined and adept at problem solving.
- Self-motivated, dependable and goal driven will-do attitude to meet project goals.
- Excellent organizational skills and ability to schedule multiple activities and resources for efficient and effective utilization.
- Ability to shift priorities as needed and work effectively in a fast-paced project team environment.
- Attentive to detail, precise, and strive to perform at your best in everything you do.
- Familiarity with Materials Requirements Planning (MRP), Production Planning processes and effective use of associated software tools.
- Understanding of the use of all tools found in an ornamental/miscellaneous workshop.
- Strong verbal and written communication skills.

Scope of Direct Responsibilities:
- Create and manage work instructions and process for creating beautiful, functional, and unique pieces custom architectural and sculptural metalwork.
- Responsible for directing all shop floor activities from start to end of the shift to meet project cadence, quality, cost, and timelines: On time. Every time.
- Build, support and execute Weekly and Daily production schedules.
- Responsible for organizing all aspects of a project, start to finish (inclusive of raw materials, tooling, shop equipment, chemical finishes, timeline, etc).
- Recommend and implement best practice techniques to improve productivity, increase efficiencies, and cut costs (save time/money).
- Ensure that departmental equipment is operated in a safe and efficient manner and is proactively maintained in good working condition.
- Maintain production and warehouse areas in a clean and orderly condition.
- Manage inventory and project scopes to ensure product schedules are met consistently and predictably.
- Advanced Skill level in all fabrication duties. Lay-out, fitting, mechanical fastening, welding.
- Blacksmithing experience is a major plus but not totally necessary. You will be responsible for overseeing and managing blacksmith projects.
- Support training and development by assisting in the development, implementation, and delivery of training programs.
- Responsible for motivating and mentoring personnel in a positive and effective manner.
- Set clear focused and achievable targets for individuals and the team.
- Ensure a safe workplace environment.
Perform other duties as assigned by RTID operations management.
