Customer Service Representative

Alameda County Industries is a company that provides solid waste, recycle and organics collection to residents and businesses in the Cities of Alameda, Castro Valley, San Leandro and San Ramon.

**We are looking to fill this requisition immediately with the right candidate**

*Fluent in Spanish strongly preferred but not required*

Job Type: Full-time

Shift: 10am – 7pm

Pay Rate: $26.50 per hour

RESPONSIBILITIES: (This is a representative list of the general duties the position may be asked to perform, and is not intended to be all-inclusive)

The Customer Service Representative is responsible for performing exemplary customer service activities in a call center environment with the objective to create a better overall customer experience. Customer Service Representatives receive and handle all incoming customer inquiries.

The following responsibilities are general duties that a particular employee in this position may or may not be required to perform. The actual duties required of this position will vary.

Assist customers with any and all service-related needs.
Assist customers in-person and over the phone.

• Process applications, process start/stop service, process payments.

Cover reception area when needed.Learn and understand ACI customer policies, practices and franchise agreement contract language related to service. Complete special projects as assigned including staffing company booths at community events and various other service requests and tasks as assigned.

REQUIREMENTS:**

Equivalent of (1) high school diploma or G.E.D. certification

One (1) year of office customer service experience

Possess a professional and friendly attitude and quickly develops a rapport with customers over the phone.

A pleasant “telephone voice”; courteous and efficient telephone manner.

Excellent verbal and written communication

Strong work ethic and self-starter, able to effectively manage multiple priorities and adapt to change within a fast-paced business environment.

Having working knowledge in MS Office (Word and Excel) and data entry systems.

Prompt arrival and regular attendance at work.

Must be willing to be flexible with work schedule, willing to work holidays, willing to work some weekends and must be willing to alternate working from our Alameda and San Leandro offices.

Detail oriented. Accurate and careful typing

Reliable and able to take instruction well

Ability to work independently

Robust multitasking skills (e.g., able to log calls and interact with the customer simultaneously)

PREFERRED:

Fluent in Spanish

Waste industry experience.
