AgWest Farm Credit is a member-owned financial cooperative that provides financing and related services to farmers, ranchers, agribusinesses, commercial fishermen, timber producers, rural homeowners and crop insurance customers in a seven-state territory in the Western United States. We are in search of a Crop Insurance Analyst Trainee to assist in providing sound, accurate, and timely crop insurance products and services to AgWest customers. This full-time position is expected to train in Conrad, Montana and after a six month training period will be assigned to a career start location based on business needs at the time training is complete (early 2024). The career start location is expected, but not guaranteed, to be in the Conrad, Montana.
Compensation Information
$60,000; bonus at target is 10% of salary
Job Requirements
AgWest trainees enter an extensive training program to jump start their careers and become experts in their field. Combining designated trainers and interaction with experienced professionals, coupled with customer visits, classroom and virtual learning, networking opportunities and hands-on experience, you’ll be prepared to excel in your career at AgWest by the end of our Training Program. After training, you will be responsible for assisting in providing sound, accurate, and timely crop insurance products and services to AgWest customers.
Minimum Requirements

• Education: Pursuing or completion of a Bachelor’s degree in Business, Accounting, Finance, Ag Economics, Ag Business, or related field.
• Preferred coursework: Finance, Accounting, Economics, Farm and Ranch Management, Business Management, Marketing and related courses.
• Experience: Two years of directly relevant experience will be considered in lieu of education and preferred coursework.
• Skills: Effective communication, marketing, analytical and computer skills, and leadership ability demonstrated through involvement in extracurricular activities and outside work experience.
• An agricultural or rural background is desirable.
