Our Crisis Program Coordinator provides quality assessment, counseling, and crisis intervention services to agency and community residents. Provides clinical and administrative supervision to crisis staff.

Qualifications Required

  • Master’s degree in the behavioral health related field with Associate or Independent Licensure through AZBBHE.
  • One (1) year supervisory experience and/or program development.
  • Ability to adapt to sudden changes in crisis situations that require objectivity.
  • Ability to work nights, weekends and holidays, as necessary.
  • Must be at least 21 years of age.
  • Possess valid Arizona driver’s license with acceptable driving record and reliable transportation.
  • Proven ability and experience providing appropriate referrals and placements within the treatment continuum.
  • Knowledge of crisis program development.
  • Demonstrated ability to provide counseling/case management to SMI participants in the Mental Health program.
  • Demonstrated knowledge of special populations such as substance abuse.
  • Demonstrated ability to develop treatment plan and summary based on participants needs.
  • Demonstrated ability to distinguish between alcohol and other drug-related symptoms and other pre-existing physical problems or pathologic behaviors.
  • Demonstrated ability to understand the biopsychosocial influences and effects of dependencies.
  • Demonstrated knowledge of how the acute and chronic nature of the dependence and the ways medical, emotional, behavioral, social, educational, and other interventions are used to treat the participant.
  • Demonstrated knowledge of referral resources available to participants.

Mental and Emotional

  • Mental and emotional requirements include prioritizing workload, decision-making ability, using sound judgment to field inquiries concerning administrative, clinical, and operational concerns, and ability to greet and deal effectively with participants, families, staff, and community members.

Physical

  • Physical requirements include long periods of sitting and ability to bend, lift, and carry up to 30 pounds.
  • Must be able physically to operate a telephone, FAX, copier, computer, and calculator.

Qualifications Preferred

  • Bilingual English/Spanish.
  • Knowledge of catchment area gained through residence in local community.
  • Prior experience with supervision of crisis staff, crisis intervention services to agency participants and residents in the community is strongly preferred.
  • Independent Licensure through AzBBHE.
