The Crew Scheduler supports our Purpose by collaborating with various workgroups and Leaders to ensure staffing and scheduling is provided for the Flight Ops workgroup. This role proactively and reactively builds the Employee scheduling to staff all flights with the necessary Pilots, while keeping scheduling legalities, Southwest’s flight network, flight irregularities, and a number of other factors in mind. Responsibilities
Successfully complete regulatory classroom training, on the job training and probationary period for Crew Scheduler I position
Administer and maintain Crewmember schedules in accordance with all Federal Aviation Regulations, Collective Bargaining Agreements, and Company policies and procedures
Crew Scheduler I's duties include: creating, analyzing and processing trips and reroutes, providing accurate and timely notification to Crewmembers for duty assignments, using a multi-line phone system, using a computer with multiple software programs/monitors, recording and tracking information pertaining to Crewmembers schedules utilizing the crew tracking system, and efficiently scheduling Crewmembers
Make cost conscious, time sensitive decisions that are compliant with Federal Aviation Regulations, Collective Bargaining Agreements, and Company policies and procedures
Execute and resolve complex tasks in a timely and efficient manner
Work with in tandem with other Schedulers and other Southwest Airlines operational personnel in rescheduling, routing, and communicating schedule changes to our Crewmembers during irregular operations
Provide Hospitality and demonstrate professionalism in all interactions with Employees
Assist Crewmembers with applicable schedule adjustments when automated functionality is not available
Assist with daily and monthly checklists/reports
Must be able to meet any physical ability requirements listed on this description
May perform other job duties as directed by Employee's Leaders

Must be able to independently work under tight time constraints and in high stress situations to accomplish assignments
Must be able to maintain focus on critical details of task at hand while working in a busy and distracting environment
Must be able to effectively communicate by email, telephone, records keeping systems and in person
Must be able to perform mathematical computations using decimals and/or hours and minutes, both with and without a calculator
Must be able to work well with others as part of a team
Must be able to read, write and fluently speak and understand the English language
Must be able to follow written and verbal instructions
Education
Required: High School Diploma or GED
Preferred: College experience
Experience
Required: Minimum one (1) year previous experience in a Customer Service or Hospitality related position
Required: Minimum one (1) year previous computer experience utilizing multiple computer programs to perform job duties
Required: Previous experience in a fast-paced, multi-variable influenced, critical thinking position required
Preferred: Previous experience in scheduling/assigning people to job tasks

Physical Abilities
Ability to perform work duties from [limited space work station/desk/office area] for extended periods of time
Ability to communicate and interact with others in the English language to meet the demands of the job
Ability to use a computer and other office productivity tools with sufficient speed and accuracy to meet the demands of the job
Ability to lift up to 25 lbs. on occasion
Other Qualifications
Must maintain a well-groomed appearance per Company appearance standards as described in established guidelines
Must be a U.S. citizen or have authorization to work in the United States as defined by the Immigration Reform Act of 1986
Must be at least 18 years of age
Must be able to comply with Company attendance standards as described in established guidelines
Must be able to work various shifts, including morning, evening and midnight shifts, weekends, holidays, overtime and extended shifts when needed
