Position Summary:
The CP Technician is responsible for performing troubleshooting cathodic protections systems. This person will be installing cathodic protection system components. Executes standard operational/technical tasks typically subject to instructions and work routines.
Key Roles & Responsibilities:
- Performs regular equipment and vehicle maintenance.
- Interfaces with Customers as appropriate and maintains a working relation with all stakeholders.
- Performs field projects such as annual cathodic Protection Surveys.
- Responsible for performing cathodic protection work.
- Trouble shoots cathodic protection systems and installs cathodic protection system components.
- Complies information and documentation for cathodic protection reporting.
Complexity, Decision-Making, Problem Solving:
- Highly motivated individual.
Knowledge, Skills, & Abilities:
- NACE/AMPP CP1 required.
- CP2 (preferred)
- Current Driver’s License required. Must have and maintain a driving record meeting insurance company requirements.
Management Responsibilities:
- No Management responsibilities. Communicates with Tech Supervisor on all issues related to performance.
Qualifications (Education, Experience, Certifications):
- High School diploma or GED.
- Associates degree preferred
- 2-3 years of related experience and/or training
- Experience in Field Cathodic Protection Systems and Installations.
Environmental/Working Conditions:
- Site required specific training and PPE.
- Production shifts ranging from 12 to 16 hours per day.
- All new hires start at a training wage, wages are reevaluated after completion.
Other Considerations/Requirements:
- Willingness and ability to travel globally on short notice, and for extended periods of time.
- Possess a valid driver’s license and be able to rent vehicles to support inspection needs.
- This position requires overtime/weekend/off-hours and very frequent domestic and international travelling.
Physical Demands & Work Environment:
Physical Demands: While performing the duties of this job, the employee is regularly required to talk or hear. The employee frequently is required to sit/stand for long periods of time; routinely walk; use hands to finger, handle or feel; climb or balance and stoop, kneel, crouch, or crawl and reach with hands and arms.

- The employee must be able to lift push, pull and/or move more than 100 pounds frequently.
Work Environment: The physical environment for this position requires the employee to work both inside and outside in heat/cold, wet/humid, and dry/arid conditions in extreme temperatures and weather. The noise level in the work environment is usually moderate to high.
