This professional social service position is assigned to the Forensic Mental Health Services Unit and a subunit of the Community Support Integration Unit of the Lycoming-Clinton MH/ID Program. This position is responsible for providing leadership for the provision of comprehensive case management services to individuals who have mental illness and who are or may become involved in the county criminal justice system.
This position works in partnership with the individual, the jail, Courts, District Justices, the District Attorney, the Public Defender and a wide range of professionals and community-based service providers in an effort to minimize the client’s involvement with the criminal justice system. As a result, Forensic Case Managers shall be held to a higher level of accountability in both their professional and personal lives to maintain the integrity of the Lycoming/Clinton County Court system. Each Forensic Case Manager will support up to up to twenty-two (22) consumers on his/her caseload. Supervision of this position is shared by the Adult Mental Health Program Specialist and the Adult Case Management Supervisor.
Work Schedule and Additional Information:
Full-time employment.- Work hours are 8:00 AM to 4:30 PM, Monday - Friday, with a 30-minute lunch.

QUALIFICATIONS
Minimum Experience and Training Requirements:
Six months of experience as a County Caseworker 1; or- Successful completion of the County Social Casework Intern program; or
- A bachelor's degree with a social welfare major; or
- A bachelor's degree which includes or is supplemented by 12 college credits in sociology, social welfare, psychology, gerontology, criminal justice, or other related social sciences and one year of professional social casework experience in a public or private social service agency; or
- Any equivalent combination of experience and training which includes 12 college credits in sociology, social welfare, psychology, gerontology, criminal justice, or other related social sciences.
- Applicants will be considered to have met the educational requirements once they are within two months of graduating with a qualifying degree/credits.
- PA residency requirement is currently waived for this title.
- Hiring preference for this vacancy will be given to candidates who live within Lycoming, Clinton, Northumberland, Sullivan, Columbia, Montour, Union, or Centre counties. If no eligible candidates who live within these counties apply for this position, candidates who reside in other counties may be considered.
