The cost account will be responsible for establishing accurate product costs for balance sheet valuation and decision making. This position will take an active role in month-end closing activities for assigned locations.

• Month-end closing activities for assigned locations
• Works with General Managers to support the locations through variance analysis and monitoring of inventory
• Participates in the continued development of a perpetual inventory system including reviewing cycle count adjustments
• Physical inventories for assigned locations which may require travel and overtime
• Prepares weekly, monthly and quarterly reporting as required
• Maintains standard based costing system for assigned regions
• Assists with both interim and year end audits
• Assigns standard costs to new part numbers
• Reviews purchase price variance reports for assigned plants and accumulates weekly reports into monthly summary for all plants
• Performs other job-related duties as assigned

• Bachelor's Degree
• Excellent skills in Microsoft Office, specifically Excel
• Experience with standard costing and working knowledge of factors impacting standard costing
• Familiarity with ERP systems for a configured product is a plus
• Strong analytical skills as well as effective interpersonal and organization skills
• Experience with querying information from databases
• Understanding BOM structures and routings
• 3+ years of accounting experience in a manufacturing environment
• Experience working with a full perpetual inventory system is a plus
• Understanding of overhead account coding for PO approval
