Job Summary / Purpose:

Analyzes expenses and cost transactions; ensures that transactions are recorded accurately and assigned to the appropriate projects and departments. Provides detailed analysis and reports of expenses, includes breakdowns of job costs, forecasts of remaining jobs in que, and opportunities to increase efficiency. Prepares periodic cost reconciliation reports tracking data such as changing labor and supply costs. This position will require regular traveling to our other offices/facilities in Sandusky and Clyde Ohio.

Key Responsibilities / Essential Job Functions:

· Variance analysis

· Job costing

· Assist with preparation and review of budgets

· Collecting and analyzing production data

· Comparing estimate vs. actual expenses on each job

· Monitoring costs on a job-by-job basis along with overall cost of goods sold

· Determine standard costs and investigate variances with actual costs

· Validate KPI data from all departments, create and update KPI reports as needed

· Monitor spending of Procurement department

· Participate in annual audit

· Monitor changes in processes or methods to calculate effects on overall costs

· Assist in month end close

· Other duties as assigned

Required Education, Skills & Abilities:

· 5+ years of experience as a cost analyst, cost specialist or similar role

· Experience in job costing and KPI reporting

· Manufacturing or automotive job costing a plus

· Thorough understanding of cost accounting principles and procedures

· NetSuite experience preferred but not required

· Excellent analytical skills

· Excellent organizational skills and attention to detail

· Excellent verbal and written communication skills

· Degree in Finance, Accounting, or similar field
