Nios’ team is growing, and we are seeking licensed cosmetologists or aestheticians who we will train to become electrologists. The position is also available for trained, experienced electrologists.

Nios is a leading electrolysis permanent hair removal center with offices in Midtown Manhattan and Downtown Brooklyn. Nios goes beyond your expectations and NY State regulations. You will be hard-pressed to find equivalent service in NYC. Our office culture is friendly, organized, attentive to customer care, and, occasionally, quirky :)

About You – The Ideal Candidate

• Is a licensed cosmetologists/aestheticians who wants to learn and work in a new field.
• Has 2+ years’ experience in a related field.
• Is personable and responsible with impeccable client service skills and has steady hands and patience for this detail-oriented service.
• Must be willing to work on private areas of males and females.
• Is available 4 or 5 days a week including at least one weekend day.
• Is looking for a long-term home (our staff averages 5+ years.)

Experience:

• Aesthetics or Cosmetology: 2 years (Preferred)

License/Certification:

• Aesthetics or cosmetology license (Required)

Compensation and Benefits

You can expect to make roughly ~60k year 1, ~70k year 2 and ~80k+ year 3, composed of either hourly rate+ commission + tips

Paid Training

You will be employed as an employee (not an independent contractor) because we believe in long-term relationships.

During the first 1-2 months of the program (3-4 days a week), you will receive extensive theoretical and practical education. Training is paid as $500 every two weeks. You will also receive continuing training during the first year (while getting paid as an electrologist) to hone your craft. After one year, you will take your Certified Electrologist Exam and graduate as a certified electrologist.

About Electrolysis

Electrolysis is the only method approved by the FDA for permanent hair removal (laser can only claim permanent hair reduction) since it can do things laser cannot (treat white, blonde, red, and fuzz hair; achieve eyebrow shaping, and more), and therefore has and will continue to have an important role in permanent hair removal. And permanent hair removal has an important effect on people's lives – we do more than just cosmetic treatments: a significant portion of women who see us have PCOS with male hair distribution on their face, and our treatments literally change their lives, not to mention our assistance with transgender gender affirming surgery.

Pay: From $60,000.00 per year

Schedule:

• 8 hour shift
• Evening shift
• Weekend availability

Supplemental pay types:
