- High school diploma or a state approved equivalent.
- Current Certified Food Manager Certificate
- Experience in quantitiy food production
- Experience in managing a supervision food serice staff
- Culinary experience.
- Ability to priortize, organize and multitask to complete job in timley manner.
- Capable of working cooperatively and congenially with other employees and superisors.
- Underingstanting of and abiltiy to act as a confidential employee reguarding staff and students.
- Order and prepare breakfast and lunch menu items as directed by Food Service Director.
- Serve student breakfast, lunch and monitoring for reimbursable meals.
- Use proper cleaning procedures to ensure that federal, state, local and district HACCP safety and sanitation regulations precedures are followed.
- Use proper inventory control including storage, handling, organization and rotation of items in the storeroom, cooler and freezer, and including lifting items weighing up to 40 pounds.
- Maintain confidentiality of information regarding students, staff and program operation.
- Ability to anticipate the work that needs to be done and respond to change quickly.
- Direct and supervise the work of food service staff in the kitchen.
- Perform other duties as requested by Food Service Director, Principal or the Superintendent of Schools or his/her designee.
- Promoting and enforcing safe work practices.
- Following verbal and written instructions and procedures.
- Establishing and maintaining effective working relationships with co-workers and clients.
- Operating a personal computer utilizing standard and specialized software.
- Communicating effectively verbally and in writing.
- Federal, state and local codes and regulations governing food handling and public nutrition services.
- Methods and procedures for institutional food preparation and inventory control.
- Safety and sanitation practices and methods for food preparation, distribution and storage.
- Principles of record keeping and records management.
- Personal sanitation and hygiene regulations.
- Customer service and public relations methods and practices.
- Environmentally responsible and resource-efficient food preparation and distribution methods.
