LOCATION: Prescott, AZ

STATUS: PT (20-25 hrs/wk)

QUALIFICATIONS:

• High school diploma or GED required.
• Minimum one year industrial cooking experience required.
• Must have valid AZ drivers license with a clean driving record.
• Ability to successfully complete Salvation Army Fleet Safety Program.
• Must have valid food handlers certificate.
• Must have recent TB testing with negative results.
• Ability to follow direction.
• Ability to give guidance and work with volunteers.
• Must pass a criminal background check.
• Ability to work with a diverse people in crisis/homelessness.

RESPONSIBILITIES:

• Assist in the preparation of assigned meals and serving food at assigned meal times
• Assist in the preparation of meals for Corps programs & special events ensuring the food is of good quality & is presented well.
• Assist in maintaining the inventory of groceries & kitchen supplies.
• Provide supervisor with a list of needed items on a weekly basis.
• Assist in tracking & reporting statistics for volunteers, meals served, donations received & other areas as requested.
• Must report all accidents or property damage.
• Responsible for keeping work area neat and clean to prevent fire and/or injury
• Responsible for assisting in keeping refrigerators & freezers cleaned & organized
• Assist in rotating food and using donated items as much as possible to help reduce cost.
• Pick up donations, as assigned, from local stores and restaurants.
• Wash, dry & fold towels used by clients daily and other items as needed.
• Responsible for ensuring that the kitchen and dining areas are cleaned immediately after meals and throughout the day.
• Responsible for adhering to health codes and Salvation Army standards.
• Responsible for compliance with all policies and procedures of the Salvation Army including PTM standards.
• Other duties as assigned as related to the position of PT Cook.

While performing the duties of this job, the employee is regularly required to walk, stand, climb or balance, stoop, kneel, crouch, crawl and reach with hands and arms on a continuous basis. The employee must regularly lift and/or move up to 20 pounds, frequently lift and/or move up to 50 pounds, and occasionally lift and/or move up to 75 pounds. Specific vision abilities required by this job include close vision, distance vision, color vision, depth perception and ability to adjust focus. Must have the ability to operate telephone, a desktop or laptop computer, as well as the ability to access and produce information from a computer, and to understand written information.
