This position reports to the President and is responsible for the oversight of the Accounting, Estimating, and Human Resource Departments

JOB DUTIES:

  • Responsible for month-end closing processes including financial statements and general account analysis.
  • Responsible for financial budgeting process and forecasting as the year progresses
  • Compares sales and profit projections to actual figures and budgeted expenses to actual expenses
  • Oversee periodic reporting to lenders and monitor all covenants
  • Continually monitor cash flows and anticipate upcoming outlays
  • Maintain product pricing & cost analysis for land, development, hard & soft costs
  • Develop understanding of client's business and aspects of client's industry.
  • Manage bi-weekly payroll processing thru Paychex
  • Act as liaison with insurance brokers for all renewals
  • Undertake any other duties as may be reasonably required by the President
  • Maintain compliance with US GAAP and all company accounting policies.
  • Monitor daily cash balances, as well as initiate ACH and wire transactions when prompted
  • Manage and oversee all functions related to Payables
  • Coordinates and ensures that all significant production variances are properly analyzed and accounted for.
  • Perform ad hoc analysis and projects as requested
  • Work to ensure year end procedures are completed on time
  • Handle year end scheduling with external accounting firm and provide workpapers and reconciliations
  • Oversee the estimating department including the implementation of new estimating software and monitoring associate progress
  • Prepare personal financial statements for shareholders when requested

REQUIRED SKILLS AND ABILITIES

  • Ability to think creatively, highly driven, self-motivated, and the ability to work under pressure to meet critical deadlines
  • Ability to complete multiple priorities in a timely manner.
  • High attention to detail and accuracy.
  • Proficiency in MS Office products including Excel, Outlook and Word is required
  • Excellent analytical, verbal, and written communication skills
  • Ability to manage a variety of responsibilities simultaneously while being extremely well organized and detail-oriented
  • Ability and desire to work effectively in a team environment

REQUIRED EXPERIENCE AND EDUCATION

  • Minimum of a Bachelor's degree in Business Administration, Accounting, or Finance is required with at least 10 years overall accounting experience.
  • Certified Public Accountant designation not required but a plus.
  • Construction/Cost Accounting experience preferred.

  • This position is full-time, consisting of 40 hours per week from Monday through Friday.
