DUTIES INCLUDE BUT ARE NOT LIMITED TO
- Insure that adequate controls are in place to minimize the risk of material misstatements in financial statements.
- Provides leadership and oversight of clerical and professional staff.
- Manage monthly close cycle.
- Manage year-end financial statement audit.
- Manage annual budget process.
- Daily treasury management.
- Provides education and training as needed to managers and staff on financial matters.
- Attends required training and continuing education per hospital policy.
- Completes all competency requirements per hospital policy.
- Assures appropriate level of understanding, awareness and compliance with all applicable Joint Commission, CMS, state and local agency laws, internal/external regulations, guidelines, policies, procedures and professional standards.
- Other duties as assigned.
KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS & ABILITIES
- Demonstrates leadership, communication, and interpersonal skills.
- Ability to communicate effectively both verbally and in writing.
- Ability to prioritize and manage multiple projects.
- Must possess strong analytical skills and be attentive to details.
- Advanced user of Microsoft Excel.
- Comfortable with software and learning new systems.
EDUCATION
- Bachelors Degree in Accounting, Finance or related field MBA preferred.
EXPERIENCE
- Minimum of 5-years related experience required (healthcare experience preferred)
CERTIFICATE/LICENSE
- CPA Preferred
PHYSICAL DEMANDS/WORKING CONDITIONS
- Inside work, with long periods of sitting at a desk or computer. Long periods of typing and phone work. Near vision of 20” or more to read reports, forms, etc and work with computer. Midrange vision of 20” to 20’ required to interact with clientele. Far vision over 20 feet for driving. Depth perception for frequent reaching for equipment. Ability to identify and distinguish colors, and to verify the accuracy of written or pictorial materials. Ability to hear sound within normal ranges in order to use telephone, participate in meetings.
