Job Description:
The Controller manages the monthly financial close process, serves as a key point of contact for internal and external auditors and is responsible for development of finance staff. The Controller is expected to be a leader in the finance department and provide a financial perspective in various cross functional initiatives to help drive business results. The Controller also performs analysis of financial results, maintains the integrity of the accounting systems and internal control environment and ensures financial results are recorded in accordance with Generally Accepted Accounting Principles (GAAP) and Company finance policies. Key responsibilities include designing and implementing improvements in financial processes to meet the Company's continuous improvement initiatives and leading the forecasting and budgeting processes. The successful candidate will be self motivated and have strong problem solving, analytic, accounting and interpersonal skills. The Controller will also need to be able to manage several projects simultaneously with the ability to be detail oriented and hands-on.
Responsibilities:
· Direct the preparation of monthly/quarterly reports for management (month end reporting package) and lead the analysis of key financial trends and variances to forecast.
· Be able to explain monthly financial results - understanding key drivers and adjustments.
· Prepare the annual financial plan, quarterly forecasts, and monthly/weekly financial outlooks. Work closely with management to understand business conditions, drive forecast ownership and accountability in the organization.
· Manage the standard cost process to provide quality information to management, sales, marketing, and operations covering margins, manufacturing costs, plant absorption, labor efficiency and productivity.
· Ensure proper documentation and monitoring of the internal control environment, including segregation of duties and ERP system access.
· Analyze cost trends, gross margin results, develop reports which highlight and communicate significant changes and provide financial guidance to the operations team on cost accounting matters.
· Provide financial advice on key customer quotes/opportunities and coordinate contract reviews with key stakeholders
· Coordinate with the operations team regarding investments (headcount and capex), material receipts, quality matters and material cost reductions (PPV).
· Responsible for all aspects of month-end financial close process for the plant, including review of reconciliations performed by others, preparation of complex account analysis and analysis of financial results.
· Review, summarize, implement and train others on accounting requirements and finance process improvements. Foster a team environment and develop finance staff. Drive finance process improvements, implement best practices.
· Participate in other projects related to cost down initiatives, capital investments, manufacturing spend, operational improvements, ERP upgrades/implementations and other business initiatives.

Qualifications
· Education: Bachelor degree in accounting. CPA and/or MBA preferred.
Experience and/or Training:
· 10+ years accounting experience, including time spent within a multi-site manufacturing environment.
· 3+ years in a management role overseeing standard costs, plant absorption, operational metrics, key performance objectives.
· Able to adjust to changing priorities - ability to prioritize work and meet deadlines.
· Successful candidate will be a highly motivated team player with excellent interpersonal, analytical and problem solving skills.
· Strong written and verbal communication skills.
· Excellent organizational skills, with the ability to quickly and accurately analyze a situation and arrive at an effective fact-based decision or solution.
· Demonstrated ability to manage people down, across and upwards throughout the organization.
· Self-motivated and proactive, both with respect to managing workload and own professional development—strong work ethic.
Technology/Equipment:Proficiency in the use of technology including thorough understanding of ERP systems, Hyperion HFM and Microsoft Excel.
Job Type: Full-time
Pay: $100,000.00 - $130,000.00 per year
