Job Summary:

This position is responsible for all financial analysis, budgeting reporting, internal controls, compliance, and period-end close activities required of the Filson Finance department. This role will directly oversee the Financial Reporting Manager, the Senior Tax and Compliance Accountant and the Accounting Manager (along with a team of accountants). This role will work in close collaboration with the Filson, Chief Operating Officer (COO) and with other Filson leaders.

We are looking for a high energy, solution oriented financial leader who collaborates easily with leaders from other departments to drive process efficiency and execute strategic goals of the organization. A desirable candidate should also have proven experience developing finance professionals with diverse skill sets. A candidate who can challenge the status quo and think outside the box is essential. Strong communication skills are also a must.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Manage and oversee the daily operations of the finance and accounting team including preparation of accurate and timely financial statements, month-end, and year-end closing processes in compliance with GAAP.
  • Communicate financial results and insights on performance to leadership
  • Manage working capital through financial analysis, KPI's, forecasts, etc., in partnership with the COO.
  • Continue to evolve internal controls around financial processes to mitigate risks including documentation of controls and approvals in partnership with Bedrock Manufacturing Corporation.
  • Produce reliable cash flow forecasts utilizing a 13-week outlook model to set expectations on the businesses uses and sources of cash
  • Prepare monthly collateral and loan compliance reporting to the bank
  • Ensure legal and tax compliance on all financial functions
  • Leverage the finance team and inputs/direction from business leaders to prepare budgets, forecasts, and long range plans
  • Leverage Business Analytics to develop operational and financial dashboards for relevant KPIs.
  • Meet monthly with department heads to review actual vs. budget results and relevant KPIs
  • Serve as the relationship point person for the year end audit and ensure audit deliverables are provided on a timely basis
  • Collaborate with Operations leadership on an ongoing basis related to physical inventory counts, inventory cost variances and standards reviews, inventory aging and other operational K.PIs.
  • Improve internal processes for scalability for the company and drive to a five-day closing cycle.
  • Develop finance and accounting team through performance management, mentoring and training.

Qualifications:

  • 8+ years of finance experience required
  • Experience managing teams of finance professionals required
  • Strong proficiency in Microsoft Excel
  • Integrity, honesty, and high ethical standards
  • Excellent written and verbal skills
  • Four year Degree in accounting or finance required
  • Masters in Business (or Accounting) and CPA licensure strongly preferred

Sampling of Total Rewards Program:

  • Compensation type: Exempt Salary
    • Compensation: $160,000 - $180,000
    • Compensation negotiated based on previous experience & qualifications
  • Position Type: (Hybrid 2x a week onsite)
