ERRG's Martinez Office is seeking a site-hire who is self-motivated, independent, dependable, and a strong communicator to be a Laborer.

Summary:

Perform tasks involving physical labor at buildings, earthwork construction projects, and demolition sites. May operate hand and power tools of all types, including air hammers, earth tampers, cement mixers, small mechanical hoists; and a variety of other equipment and instruments. May clean and prepare sites; dig trenches; excavations support; backfill operations support; decontamination support; traffic control; various fencing install and removal; clean up rubble and debris; and remove hazardous waste materials. May assist other craft workers. Responsible for set-ups and break downs of project sites.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities:

  • Follow direction to perform work activities.
  • Clean and prepare construction sites.
  • Control traffic passing near, in, and around work zones.
  • Signal equipment operators to facilitate alignment, movement, and adjustment of machinery, equipment, and materials.
  • Dig ditches or trenches, backfill excavations, and compact and level earth using picks, shovels, pneumatic tampers, and rakes.
  • Position, join, align, and seal structural components, such as concrete wall sections and pipes.
  • Measure, mark, and record openings and distances to layout areas where construction work will be performed.
  • Load, unload, and identify building materials, machinery, and tools, and distribute them to the appropriate locations in accordance with project plans and specifications.
  • Build and position forms for pouring concrete, and dismantle forms after use, using saws, hammers, nails, or bolts.
  • Other duties as assigned.

Minimum Qualifications:

  • One year of industry-related experience.
  • Must be able to operate construction tools.
  • Have basic math and problem solving skills.
  • Must be able to lift 50 pounds regularly.
  • Must pass drug test and background check.
  • Must have dependable transportation and valid driver’s license.
  • Ability to travel to project sites around the Pacific Northwest.
  • 40-Hour HAZWOPER training and 8-Hour HAZWOPER refresher.

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Experience working on environmental remediation construction projects.

Job Type: Contract

Pay: $20.00 - $25.00 per hour

Schedule:

  • 10 hour shift
  • 8 hour shift
  • Monday to Friday

Supplemental pay types:

  • Bonus pay

Willingness to travel:
