GENERAL PURPOSE
Provide quality control for new business forms to ensure integrity and accuracy of conflicts analyses and data. Perform conflicts searches on new firm business and prepare reports for analysis by conflicts lawyers and department management. Assist conflicts lawyers and department managers with the review, research, and resolution of conflicts issues related to new firm business and other department functions as needed, to ensure compliance with firm policies and the ethical standards of all jurisdictions.
This position is a hybrid role, necessitating a combination of in-office and remote work. Must be within commutable distance of the office.
ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS
These essential functions are primary job duties that incumbents must be able to perform unassisted or with some reasonable accommodation.
- New Business Intake: Provide overall quality control on new business requests to ensure data submitted is accurate and error-free. Incorporate information from emails, comments, and phone calls to ensure data is complete. Perform corporate research on new clients and related parties. Run conflict checks on new business requests and prepare reports and summaries of results for review by conflicts lawyers and department manager. Perform analysis on search results as directed. Assist with the resolution of conflict-of-interest issues as directed.
- Consent Documentation: Collaborate with conflicts lawyers and department management to draft, send, and track receipt of consent letters. Draft consent letters with basic conflicts information provided by conflicts lawyers.
- Ethical Walls: Work with conflicts lawyers and department management to draft and post firmwide screening memoranda. Erect screens in Intapp Walls based on information provided in screening memoranda.
- Data Integrity: Identify and perform large-scale projects to reconcile information in the conflicts database.
- Assist on other projects as needed, including as related to lateral hires and legal holds.
- Perform other duties, as assigned.
- Be present at work during regularly scheduled working hours and as needed in the position, consistent with the firm’s attendance expectations.
SPECIFIC SKILLS REQUIRED
Be accustomed to working in a fast-paced, demanding environment. Strong communication and superior customer service skills. Strong research skills. Ability to produce a high-quality, accurate work product with sound judgment and attention to detail. Ability to take initiative and exercise discretion. Possess strong organizing and prioritizing skills and the ability to manage multiple priorities simultaneously. Work well in a team-oriented environment.
SPECIFIC SKILLS PREFERRED
Experience with the new business intake process at a law firm. Experience with corporate and/or legal research. Ability to establish effective working relationships throughout operational groups. Ability to establish effective working relationships with lawyers, business professionals, and administrative personnel. Perform well under pressure.
EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE
Requires a BA degree and three years of corporate experience, preferably in a Conflicts or Professional Standards Department or equivalent in a legal environment. Prior research experience is required. Understanding of relevant topics, legal issues, and the willingness to learn more are required. Experience with conflicts database or similar program preferred.

$60,640 to $88,740
