The College of Science and Engineering at Central Michigan University (CMU) invites applications for two tenure-track Assistant Professor of Computer Science positions with a start date of August 2023. The Department of Computer Science seeks candidates with preference given to computer security/cybersecurity, but exceptional candidates in all areas of computer science will be considered including but not limited to human computer interaction/multimedia, artificial intelligence (AI) and machine learning (ML). This position is part of a cluster hire focused on advanced mobility, electric vehicles, grid, and alternative modes of transportation.

Successful candidates should demonstrate the capability to teach both undergraduate and graduate courses in these programs and are expected to develop sponsored research programs and publish scholarly articles. A strong commitment to excellence in service is also expected.

Required Qualifications
  • A terminal degree (Ph.D.) in Computer Science or closely related disciplines; ABD will be considered if it is clear that the degree will be conferred by the appointment start date.
  • Strong commitment to excellence in teaching.
  • Established record of research publications.
  • Ability to perform the essential functions of the job with or without reasonable accommodations.
