Position Overview:

The computer center aide will assist in the overall functioning of the Modbee.com Computer Lab; the goal being to provide an enriching and educational experience for the children and adults partaking in the computer lab education programs.

Essential Duties & Responsibilities:

  • Assist and supervise the children in the Virtual Learning Assistance Program and Computer Lab.
  • Advertise and promote programs in advance with monthly calendars.
  • Assist in overseeing computer learning classes for the community.
  • Assisting in virtual learning and afterschool homework program, helping students with online distant learning and classwork.
  • Making sure you have the supplies necessary for homework, VLA and computer classes.
  • Completing assignments given by Program Manager
  • Tests students of classes to track learned skills and class effectiveness
  • Assist in coordinating and implementing computer related community events.
  • Assist as needed in developing a monthly calendar of computer events
  • Responsible for tracking computer usage, program usage and class attendance. These statistics are due on the Thursday following the last Sunday of each month.
  • Responsible for discipline and order at all times in the Computer Lab. All conflicts should be handled wisely and in a professional manner. Accidents must be immediately recorded on Accident Report forms.
  • Meet Child Safety regulations and abide by them.
  • Must attend all staff training and meetings.
  • All other reasonable duties as assigned by Corps Officers

Knowledge, Skills & Abilities Required:

  • Strong Leadership Skills
  • Strong desire to help in promoting the program through marketing materials, community outreach etc.
  • Strong computer & typing skills
  • Ability to teach/tutor

Software Related Skills:

  • Microsoft Word and Excel required
  • Microsoft TEAMS, PowerPoint and Access required
  • Schology
  • Powerschool
  • Zoom
  • Outlook
  • Mavis Beacon, required

Physical Requirements:

  • Ability to sit, walk, stand, bend, squat, climb, kneel, and twist on an intermittent or sometimes continuous basis
  • Ability to grasp, push, pull objects such as files, file cabinet drawers, and reach overhead
  • Ability to operate telephone
  • Ability to operate a desktop or laptop computer
  • Ability to lift up to 25 lbs. (usually file boxes)
  • Ability to access and produce information from a computer


Experience

Education

Required
  • High School or Equivalent or better
