Summary of Work


Are you a compassionate rule-following accountant? North Dakota Housing Finance Agency (NDHFA) is seeking a Compliance Accountant to work within our fiscal team. If you are detail oriented, analytical, a confident decision-maker and like rules, apply.

The successful candidate will have the opportunity to learn and perform the following tasks:

  • Prepare investor reports.
  • Develop and evaluate Agency-wide programs quality control plans.
  • Determine proper Quality Control Plan options for FNMA, GNMA, and general Bond Issues.
  • Research and monitor regulations and determine impact to Agency, making recommendations to the Chief Financial Officer (CFO).
  • Update Quality Control plans to maintain compliance with governing entities.
  • Select and review loans for compliance as outlined in the Quality Control plan.
  • Document findings and prepare compliance reports for management.
  • Monitor findings and follow-up to determine compliance.
  • Evaluate Agency wide internal control plan.
  • Document standard operating procedures for various departments and processes.

Minimum Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s degree in accounting, finance or business administration AND
  • Successful completion of the interview process, reference checks, and background check.

Preferred Qualifications

  • Financial accounting experience.
  • Audit experience.
  • Strong attention to detail.
  • Strong verbal and written communications skills.
  • Highly proficient in Microsoft Excel.
  • Ability to work in a complex and fast paced environment independently and as part of a team.
