# What's the role?

The Communications + PR Manager will be responsible for supporting external communications and marketing efforts. We are looking for someone industry-savvy to write and create relevant marketing and PR materials that are aligned with company goals and storylines. The ideal candidate is a strong writer able to draft and edit high-quality PR materials, from press releases and pitches to social media posts and marketing copy. This person should be able to maintain strong relationships with media and clients alike and contribute to thought leadership, message development, and external exposure initiatives for the company. This role reports into the Marketing and Communications Director.


Essential Responsibilities You'll Own

  • Provides day-to-day support in executing comprehensive PR and marketing plans and strategies
  • Manages status updates for PR campaigns; including planning and summarizing results
  • Draft press materials and aid in sourcing byline opportunities
  • Research industry trends and develop proactive pitches for media
  • Craft compelling submissions for our senior leadership team to secure speaking roles and provide post-event ROI analysis
  • Develop and maintain in advance a calendar of industry awards and events
  • Maintain an in-depth understanding of the organization's offerings and products
  • Ensure materials are up to date - reflecting the agency's latest work and point-of-view
  • Stay informed of industry news and competitive platforms and offerings
  • Act as a liaison between other departments to determine strategic communication initiatives
  • Create award submission narratives centered around people and company success stories

# What will set you up for success

  • 2-4 years of agency or allied communications industry experience that ensures your general understanding of marketing, media, public relations
  • Possess and deliver excellent written and verbal communication skills, demonstrating the ability to present thoughts clearly, accurately, and succinctly; High EQ
  • Possess and encourage high degrees of initiative, drive, energy, accountability, creativity and maturity.
  • Strategic ability to balance company vision while managing highly detail-oriented tasks
  • Has an innate sense of curiosity about storytelling and technology
  • Have the proven ability to work under tight deadlines and handle pressure, while consistently paying attention to accuracy and quality of work.
  • A collaborative, solution-oriented, can-do attitude
  • Impeccable sense of judgment and discretion
  • Strong work ethic, sense of urgency and ability to manage competing priorities
  • Strong knowledge of current trends, innovations and best practices
  • Incorporate the passion, excitement and experience of one's MINOR in relevant ways that inform the quality and output of agencies deliverables.
  • Bonus points if you have worked in Advertising, Creative, or Technology industries
  • 4-year college degree preferred.
  • Digitally savvy; MUST be skilled in Google and Microsoft Office suite (Mac OS) + Slack

Salary Hiring Range: $60,000 - $80,000

Our salary ranges are based on paying competitively for our size and industry, and are one part of many compensation, benefits and other reward opportunities we provide (e.g. bonus, stock options, 401(k) match, etc.)

Individual pay rate decisions are based on a number of factors, including qualifications for the role, experience level, skillset, and balancing internal equity relative to peers at the company. We expect the majority of the candidates who are offered roles at our company to fall healthily throughout the range based on these factors.

The range above is for the expectations as laid out in the job description, however we are often open to a wide variety of profiles, and recognize that the person we hire may be less experienced (or more senior) than this job description as posted. If that ends up being the case, the updated salary range will be communicated with you as a candidate.

The salary range above is for the NY/CA. As a company, we have a location based strategy, which means the salary range could be lower or higher than this if the role is hired in another location.
