Collision Center Technician

Due to growth and expansion, The Mercedes-Benz and Sprinter dealer in West Chester, OH has an immediate opening for a collision repair technician/body technician - someone who wants to pursue a career of excellence in Automotive Technology with proven repair experience.

Mercedes-Benz or other European luxury experience is strongly preferred but at least two years of current vehicle collision repair experience.

Qualifications:

  • Must be at least 18 years of age
  • Must be able to satisfactorily complete a background check and drug screening
  • Must have a valid driver’s license and be eligible for coverage under PAC insurance policy (Not an excluded driver)
  • Must be able to satisfy I-9 requirements
  • Experience required. A minimum of 2 years previous collision repair experience
  • 4 years practical experience (or an equivalent combination of related education and experience) required
  • High School Diploma or equivalent required
  • Vocational/technical school preferred
  • Proficiency in the use of all tools of trade (including welding equipment, paint equipment, shop machines, and power tools) required
  • Basic computer skills including Microsoft Word, Excel, Outlook required

Job Description

  • Thoroughly tear down vehicles for estimates
  • Review estimates with estimator while vehicle is still in the stall
  • Read and follow all repair procedure information provided
  • Check parts received when delivered by parts department
  • Repair all vehicles to manufacturer standards
  • Fill out supplement request form for an estimator when needed
  • Give supplement request forms to production
  • Take all necessary parts to the paint shop with the vehicle for painting
  • Check vehicle parts order before sending the car to paint
  • Communicate to parts department on any missing parts that are on order
  • Check vehicle color match and paint finish prior to assembling the vehicle for quality
  • Assemble the vehicle to pre-loss condition
  • Fill, bleed and check any vehicle fluids (coolant, power steering fluid, windshield fluid and ext.)
  • Check and recheck all systems before and after repairs (windows, lamps, locks, latches, mirrors, radio, and ext.)
  • Check panels for proper fit and gaps
  • Responsible for vehicle cleanliness always
  • Responsible for show equipment cleanliness and proper storage
  • Responsible for stall organization and cleanliness
  • Check dash for any indicator lamps before and after repairs
  • Communicate to production any issues that need attention
  • Proper disposal for hazardous waste
  • Responsible for quality of workmanship

Work environment

  • Regularly exposed to work near moving mechanical parts
  • Regularly exposed to fumes, airborne particles, and/or caustic chemicals-requires use of a respirator.
  • Moderate noise level in this working environment
  • Occasionally exposed to hot, cold, wet, or humid conditions

Physical Demands

  • Must be able to stand for long periods of time and must be able to walk, sit, bend, push/pull, stoop, kneel, crouch, reach or crawl frequently.
  • Mus be able to lift 50 pounds.
