ETTA is seeking Student Coaches to support clients with Developmental/Intellectual Disabilities within the San Fernando Valley. Student Coaches will work with ETTA clients enrolled in the Career Academy (primarily located at Pierce College) in the areas of health and safety, campus and community access and involvement, volunteering and pre-employment skills.
ETTA is a not-for-profit agency serving the Los Angeles area. We have provided services and support for individuals and their families with special needs for over 25 years. Student Coaches support individuals with varying levels and types of disabilities, such as autism spectrum disorder and intellectual disability, to become active, wage-earning members of the workforce through continued education and firsthand vocational experience.
Location: San Fernando Valley College Campus
Hours: M-F, Part Time with the potential to grow into a Full Time position.
Job Duties:
- Provide one-to-one direct service to clients, including coverage for unstaffed, unassigned clients as needed.
- Utilize campus knowledge in providing clients support with campus tours, registration, textbooks, class fees (including FAFSA), accessing campus resources, participating in classroom lectures/activities, etc.
- Participate in developing, implementing, and tracking client progress and services according to program designs and goals, including creation of daily/weekly client activity schedules.
Job Requirements:
- Must be at least 18 years of age.
- Have a high school diploma or GED.
- Proficient interpersonal and computer skills.
- Have reliable transportation during the work day, including, but not limited to, a personal vehicle, or access to public transportation.
