Schedule: Full Time

Shift: Monday - Friday, 8:30 to 5:00

Location: This course will be held at the Health Science Center Building located at: 805 6th Avenue West, Hendersonville NC 28739. The course runs 8 hrs each day with a 30 minute lunch. This is a 40 hour per week course; 8:30 am to 5:00 pm. Clinicals will be held at AdvenHealth.

The role you’ll contribute:

Employee is hired with no previous training or certification. They will be paid 40 hours per week to

complete a 4-6-week nursing assistant program in partnership with Blue Ridge Community College. They

will be required to pass the certification exam upon completion of the program.

The employee must attend all training classes and clinical days. If the employee misses one session, they

will need to make up that session. If the employee misses more than one session, they forfeit their

position in the program, at which time they can apply for other open positions in AdventHealth, but will

not proceed in the Certified Nursing Assistant Program.

Upon completion of program and certification, the employee assists patients with activities of daily living, provides basic nursing care to patients and assists in maintenance of a safe and clean environment under the direction and supervision of the Registered Nurse or Licensed Practical Nurse on unit.

This program will run from January 30, 2023 thru February 24, 2023. By participating in the program, the employee commits to working at AdventHealth Hendersonville for 1 year. If the employee resigns prior to one year, they agree to pay back the cost of the Blue Ridge Community College course (see CNA Promissory Note)

The value you’ll bring to the team:

• Assists patients with activities of daily living, provides for personal care and emotional support.
• Provide care which may include bed bath, shower, whirlpool, oral hygiene, back rubs, peri-care, freshening linen, cleaning overbed tables, straightening room and other general care as directed by the RN.
• Provide general nursing care such as positioning patients, lifting and turning patients, applying/utilizing special equipment, assisting in use of bedpan, commode and ambulating patients.
• Promptly reports any changes in patient status (e.g., changes in vital signs, level of consciousness, weight, mobility status, comfort level, feeding pattern or any unusual occurrences) to the RN in a timely manner.
• Verifies the diet order for each patient to whom assigned, feeds, or assists with feeding, and assists with fluid intake as directed by the RN or patient care plan.

The expertise and experiences you’ll need to succeed:

• High school diploma or equivalent required.
• Must complete 6-week Certified Nursing Assistant Course through AdventHealth Hendersonville and pass the Nurse Assistant Certification exam at the end of the course.
• Current American Heart Association BLS required within 60 days of hire.
