The Cloud Network Engineer is a subject matter expert responsible for the design, implementation, maintenance, and support of our growing physical and Azure cloud diverse infrastructure.

In this role, you will be part of a growing team of system engineers tasked with the responsibility of providing a scalable, maintainable, highly available architecture that meets the need of a diverse hybrid work force.

This position will support the following functional areas: Core Infrastructure, Desktop Management, Business Infrastructure, Messaging, Network, Voice.

This is a new position within our growing IT Department and will be eligible for a hybrid schedule (2-3 days remote per week) once fully trained.

Responsibilities

  • Maintaining computer networks including routers, switches, VPNs, Cloud native virtual networking, and other physical and virtual networking solutions
  • Installing and configuring network equipment at branch office locations
  • Creating and maintaining firewalls and updating data security systems within a Secure Access Service Edge (SASE) architecture to keep data and communications protected
  • Monitoring computer systems to improve network performance for all systems
  • Troubleshooting, resolving, and communicating networking issues to other employees and management
  • Implementing disaster recovery procedures
  • Maintaining current knowledge and understanding of security and networking best practices to offer the best solutions and protection to company systems
  • Monitors performance metrics
  • Provide Level-2/3 support and troubleshooting to resolve issues
  • Work within established configuration and change management policies to ensure awareness, approval and success of changes made to the network infrastructure
  • Select and implement security tools, policies, and procedures in conjunction with the company’s security team
  • Liaise with vendors and other IT personnel for problem resolution
  • Provides system/equipment/specialized training and technical guidance.
  • Perform weekend and after-hours work, as well as after-hours emergency work, as required.
  • Performs miscellaneous duties as assigned.

Qualifications

  • Minimum 3 years of experience.
  • Relevant Information Technology certifications preferred, CCNP or higher.
  • Deep understanding of networking protocols (e.g., IPSEC, HSRP, BGP, OSPF, 802.11, QoS)
  • In depth experience with Zscaler or similar SASE (Secure Access Service Edge) solutions
  • In-depth understanding and practical knowledge of networking systems such as LAN, firewalls, routers, switches, and printers
  • Solid understanding of the OSI or TCP/IP model
  • Hands-on experience with monitoring, network diagnostic and network analytics tools
  • Familiarity with regulatory compliance, including HIPAA, Sarbanes-Oxley, Privacy and Security, PCI
  • Ability to analyze and evaluate networks, identify issues, and provide solutions to ensure networks are operating efficiently
  • Ability to design, implement and troubleshoot Wi-Fi and security infrastructure
  • Ability to manage several projects simultaneously from design to implementation
  • Ability to communicate technical information to other technical team members but also to coworkers in other departments who may not have knowledge of networking technical terminology
  • Advanced, demonstrated understanding in the following competency areas:
    • Troubleshooting abilities in a multi-tier architecture
    • Manage and maintain site-related documentation
    • Produce progress, problem, and status reports, as required by management
    • Manage service providers for prompt problem resolution
    • Incident Management, Change management and Problem Management
    • Hardware installation, configuration, and maintenance
    • Software installation, configuration, and maintenance
    • Performance monitoring and tuning
    • System backup and recovery methods
    • Disaster recovery processes
