Role Summary
Company designs, builds, leases and operates the most innovative and efficient data centers in the world and supports them with 100% renewable energy as part of our goal to maintain net-zero emissions for our operations today, and achieve net-zero emissions by 2050. Company is seeking an experienced and outgoing individual to join our IT Facilities team to lead our Data Center Strategy and how that is deployed across our 55+ IT Facilities as we support transformational projects in support of this goal. Their plans mean developing, documenting, operating and managing the data center infrastructure and facilities the & the way which is synonymous with ensuring: high uptime, capacity availability & flexibility and delivering capital and operational cost efficiency in a safe, healthy working environment.

Role Responsibilities:

  • Align with business owners at each of the facilities to understand their business needs and what they

need from IT Facilities to ensure their success

  • Coordinate cross functionally with appropriate subject matter experts to define architecture, propose

solutions, gain budgetary approval and oversee implementation of all new IT facilities projects

  • Create, maintain and implement preventative maintenance and multi-year lifecycle projects to ensure

all sites are operating optimally.

  • Audit all sites according to industry best methods and ensuring compliance of Volkswagen Global IT

Regulations, document risks that may result & implement corrective action plans

Education and Skills Requirements
Required Qualifications:

  • Bachelors degree - Computer Science, Electrical Engineering or Equivalent Work Experience
  • A minimum of 10 years progressive experience within IT Data Center operations
  • At least 5 years experience Architecting, Installing & Decommissioning IT Facilities & Data Centers

including:

  • Data Center Space Design
  • Structured Cabling
  • Electrical Systems (Power)
  • Mechanical Systems (Cooling)
  • Physical Security
  • Intimate familiarity with Applied Data Center Designs and Best Practices
  • Certified Data Centre Design Professional (CDCDP) Certification
  • Direct experience with vendor management of IT service suppliers
  • Strong organizational skills

Desired Qualifications

  • Experience Integrating and Transitioning On-Site Facilities with/to Data Center Hosting (Colocation)

Facilities & Cloud Data Center Concepts

  • BICSI Registered Communications Distribution Designer (RCDD) or Data Center Design Consultant

(DCDC)

  • Project Management Institute Project Management Professional (PMP)

Job Types: Full-time, Contract

Salary: $85.00 - $90.00 per hour

Schedule:

  • 8 hour shift
