We are seeking a motivated, self-starting individual to join our clinics as a Referral Specialist. As part of our team, this individual processes insurance authorizations, maintains and updates health care records and associated documents, performs data entry and answers phones for all referral related inquiries. Responsibilities entail working with medical specialists and insurance providers. This position requires a highly organized professional with excellent customer service and interpersonal skills and phone etiquette. This position requires prior experience in a health care related field and has knowledge of medical terminology.

Salary: $17.30 - $20.76 DOE

Required education and experience

• High school diploma or GED equivalent
• Minimum two years of experience in a medical office or similar setting
• Proficient and accurate typing and data entry skills
• Superb customer service and communication skills
• Knowledge of HIPAA requirements regarding patient confidentiality
• Current health provider BLS card

Preferred education and experience

• Typing efficiency certificate
• Medical Assistant Certificate preferred
• Bilingual preferred

• Must possess current driver’s license

• Check Orchard Hospital e-mail a minimum of once each shift and respond appropriately
• Listens to voice mail a minimum of twice each scheduled shift and return phone calls on a daily basis. Maintain a log of phone calls received and responses made
