Aptive Environmental LLC is looking for a local and experienced Claims professional to join our Finance / Risk Management team. The Claims Manager's primary function is to lead the claims management process and ensure all workers comp claims and automobile claims are processed promptly and properly. They are a liaison between the injured employees and the adjuster, proactively seeking to identify issues early that could impede recovery or return to work, and do everything possible to resolve those issues, minimize delays, and get the claim back on the right track. This role will also provide strategic analysis of the Company’s insurance programs, developing and leading strategic initiatives that reduce cost.

Job Location: Hybrid (3 days in-office) at our Provo, UT location.

Salary: $100k/annually

Responsibilities include:

  • Partner with the VP of Finance, Director of Safety, Director of Operations and Area Managers on the investigation of new incidents and the Return-to-Work Program.

  • Manage all Auto, General Liability, Workers’ Compensation, claim processes and partner with Global Insurance and Risk Management to address Claims.

  • Oversee the Third-Party Administrator (TPA) relationship. Ensure that all claims are managed effectively and according to service instructions.

  • Participate in Claim Reviews.

  • Work with Director of Safety to create programs to reduce accidents.

  • Review and check the accuracy of all claim’s billings and claims service fees.

  • Works closely with vendor partners to monitor established cost containment programs.

  • Work with our broker and Third-Party Administrator (TPA) to produce reports to keep senior leadership informed on claims costs, reserves, and trending.

  • Ability to manage claims-related projects from beginning to end.

  • Assist with completion of annual year-end policy audits for General Liability, Workers’ Compensation, and Business Auto.

  • Performs other related duties as assigned or requested.

Requirements:

  • 5 years of progressive experience in workers compensation and Auto claims management with at least 1-2 years spent managing a team

  • Knowledge or multiple state and monopolistic state workers compensation regulations

  • Experience in managing multiple open claims at one time

  • Able to handle highly confidential information with the utmost care and discretion

  • Working knowledge and implementation of return-to-work programs

  • Strong knowledge of Auto, General Liability, Workers’ Compensation, Property and other risks/safety programs required

  • Strong active listener, strong communication, customer service, assertive yet tactful

  • Attention to detail and thoroughness is a must

  • Knowledge with word, spreadsheets, and Google Docs

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Bachelor’s degree or equivalent

  • Ability to analyze and write reports, and procedure manuals to develop and recommend best practices

  • Experience with WorkDay
