Responsibilities:

  • Managing the day-to-day activities of a group of Civil Technicians
  • Must be reliable – daily attendance for scheduled work is mandatory and must be able to complete projects on time
  • A foreman is expected to arrive to the job site prior to the days start time, manage employee start, stop, break, and lunch times, crew rotation, and remain at the job site through the end of the day's designated end time
  • Areas of work include reading job build plans such as rigging plans, drawings, & RFDS.s, conduit installation, pulling wire, assembly, layout, equipment mounting/installation, testing/troubleshooting and other duties as assigned
  • Completes all paperwork – forms for materials & supplies, job status documentation, deliverables & closeout requirements, incident reporting, etc. – and submits to management for processing
  • Closely adheres to all safety standards and procedures. Identifies gaps in safety standards as well as safety risks in the environment and provides recommendations to higher level technical staff and management
  • Maintains adherence to Company policies, safety standards and good housekeeping practices
  • Maintains proper care of Company tools and vehicles
  • Analyze situations accurately and complete assigned course of action
  • Effectively contributes to strong team environment through assisting team members in accomplishing goals, supporting and promoting team spirit and cooperation
  • Demonstrates integrity, strong initiative, as well as a focus on quality of work and safety on a daily basis
  • Willingness to take hands on approach in leading their team through demonstration
  • Communicate with Construction Supervisor of construction progress, concerns and deviations from plans or established schedule.
  • Ensure the quality control requirements are met at the site
  • Provide leadership, guidance, and actively train/promote skills to crew members
  • Train and assist employees in completing tasks
  • May maintain and enforce all OSHA safety practices, perform daily jobsite safety inspections prior to operation. Immediately stops work when unsafe work practices or conditions exist
  • Identify all materials and other resources needed to complete project
  • Work with Construction Manager or Site Supervisor to analyze job requirements such as labor and materials

Requirements:

  • Must have at least 2 years + experience as a Crew Lead
  • Must have 5+ years of experience civil construction in the Telecommunications Industry.
  • Must have experience running crews of 3 to 5 climbers and solving team issues, crew scheduling, crew accountability, crew safety enforcement
  • Knowledge of Electrical Meter cans, disconnects, Etc.
  • General understanding of grounding system design, testing, and maintenance
  • Must be able to work in high places and work in small spaces
  • Valid Driver's License
  • RF Trained
  • OSHA 10 and/or OSHA 30
  • CPR/First Aid
  • Must be able to work overtime to include weekends and /or nights
  • Operation and adjustment of commonly used tools efficiently
  • Problem solve and troubleshoot connectivity issues
  • Year-round outdoor work is consistently required in this position
  • Ability to stay on task independently and work in a team environment
  • Strong attention to detail
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills
  • Working knowledge of safety standard
  • Perform other tasks as assigned
  • Must be able to adhere to random drug/alcohol screening
  • Must have clear driving record
  • Must be able to lift 50 lbs.
  • Must be able to dig deep and long trenches when needed
