SummaryThis is administrative and professional work in planning, organizing and directing the activities of the Administration Department. Work involves the performance of administrative and professional tasks often requiring independent decisions based on interpretations of policies and procedures. Incumbent often develops and refines working procedures and is required to exercise considerable initiative and independent judgement in carrying work to completion. The City Clerk is supervised by the Mayor and holds his/her job at the will and pleasure of the Mayor and Board of Aldermen.
Requirements: Graduation from an accredited four year college or university with major course work in accounting, business or public administration with accounting emphasis, and five years of progressively responsible experience in public finance administration which includes at least two years experience in a responsible supervisory or managerial position. CPA certificate is desired but not necessary.
